I'll start a blog on this both here and on AA, one that will be on-going for a while, possibly years. But for now, I just wanted to show a bit of it's beginnings, the robotic arm. I'll be seriously reading and studying the 'Arm Your Atari' article covering two Analog issues, IIRC, #54 and #55 though I might 53/54 or even 44/45 or something close or inverted.

I don't know how much from that article I'll be using, since it covers heavily modifying the old toy Armitron robot and connecting it...
As ever, you guys may or may not have seen this before in action as it's very likely to be on AA but I rarely venture on there these days, so just in case you haven't seen this 1090XL 'big box' expansion hardware showing its possibilities, then check these out:

I discovered by accident that they fit, when one popped off my PC keyboard after hitting it in a moment of anger, so I had to try. I even have keys that will fit the outer function keys on either side of the Qwerty keys, though since the key posts are off-center on the 800, they would need considerable re-working and it would probably be easier to just print proper ones.

They are just from a cheap $10 keyboard, and after a bit of research, I found I had 2 black and one white cheap USB PC...

So, as I showed in my "bag-o-bones" thread in the general chat section, I got a bag full of odds and ends cables from a friend. In that bag were also two TRS-80 analog joysticks and mouse.

The TRS-80 color computer line, at least up to the Coco 3 and possibly it as well (I haven't studied it to know if they add more controller ports), only use analog potentiometer inputs for joystick and mouse movement. So this, of course, got me thinking about using them on the Atari with programs that use...

Hi peeps,
I recently bought a SIDE3 and have been trying to set up some HDD on the SD card. I have used FDISK to create a 2GB FAT16 and created five 31.99MB Atari HDD’s, the remaining space I created a FAT32 partition.
So the SIDE Loader sees all three and I can access both the FAT partitions but the APT section is greyed out when I select it. The APT table is correct but they are all greyed out and I cannot mount them in the SIDE loader.
I must have done something wrong but I’m not sure...
