OK, so some of you thought I was pished when I said I remember Paul mentioning he had reviewed for Atari User mag way back in the 80s. I kinda still recalled 1-2 of the games that he'd reviewed - there was a boxing one which may/may not have been King of the Ring? I know he's always been very honest and forthright and calls a spade a spade - what you see is what you get - and this sincere style also comes through in his written reviews.
Anyhow, we got discussing this on here and of course...

Hi all you Atarians, for the first time I have received an ATR disk image file from a person who would like me to review his BASIC programmed game for Atari 8-bit. I've tried many operations in order to load the supposedly .BAS program included in the ATR disk image, but cannot find a way to make it work. I've tried to boot with a DOS image diskette (Altirra or Atari800Win) and then see the directory of the ATR file, but nothing seems to work.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong, but...

Hi Folks

I was playing around with my 800XL today and plugged in a set of paddle controllers to try them with Arkanoid. Managed to get up to level 17 and a new high score. The game was so much more enjoyable with the paddles

So, any recommendations or suggestions for other games that might work with the paddles?

I found a Midimate and Miditrack III software for the 130XE as discounted demo models back in the early 90's at a music shop, and I knew they had earlier versions of Miditrack for the 800 and XL models, and, of course, they were prolific publishers of Atari music oriented software and hardware for Atari ST's, very popular among musicians. But I never realized just how prolific their support for the 8-bit line, especially the 130XE, until I was searching Atarimania to see what software (and...

Hi guys,

As you know, I've recently acquired some more Page 6 Atari User library disks and somewhere, amongst all my packed away retro gear, I have a load more.

View attachment 2013

Some nifty sounding titles in there incl. Look to the Stars (astronomy), Copymate 4.3 (disk utils) and Genealogy - guess what, my great great great grandad...was an Oric!

Anyways, when I finally get sorted this end and set-up properly again in some kinda new look retro cave, I intend to see what library...
