    Cheers Andy.

I've had lots of fun setting it up. I haven't used it all much but it looks cool (to me anyway) and I''m going to enjoy getting my groove with the XL and ST on it.

At the far end of the same wall I have my 800 set up along with the 400 Mini and 2600+ all going in to a 14" crt. The 2600+ especially looks great on the telly. Already got space made for the 7800+ to sit alongside it.

There are plenty of photographs of my Atari Corner on this thread, but here is a shot of its little brother

    unnamed (6).jpg

When the 7800+ gets released it will go on the middle shelf next to the 2600+. Although the "+" machines are HDMI, I'm using an adaptor to hook them up to the 14" CRT. The little THE400 looks pretty neat sitting next to its big brother I think.

A lower shelf just out of view contains a cabinet with all my 2600/7800 cartridges and an IKEA storage box with the rest of my 8bit carts so I have them all handy to play on the 800.

    Awesome, Al.
I have an Atari 400 (original but with it's backside missing oop for sale later today!)
Apols I've been MIA this week - had a v bad past 24-48hrs with me mam being rushed into Sacrboro hossie after banging her head falling in the bathroom. I set off to see her after work Tues night and the bloody MX5 broke down - clutch went - had to wait 3 hrs for the breakdown truck to arrive.
Since been bogged down trying to get it towed to a garage (all full of MOT works until mid Nov) and repaired.
If it aint one thing, fellas, it most certainly is a shedful of others :)

Sorry to hear about your mums accident Andy, hope she is on the mend soon.

And fingers crossed you have the MX-5 back on the road in the very near future as well.

    Thanks, Al.
    V much appreciated.
Latest is mam's been moved to a coronary care unit at Scarboro - irregular heartbeat, confused and slurring her words.
Not great and we hope for better news soon.
    Cheers, fella.

Just a quick update. Spent a most enjoyable couple of hours this rainy Saturday evening playing the 800XL before moving on to the ST and the wonderful SideCarT. A great cartridge that can load games over wifi from a database, emulate a hard drive, switch TOS roms, operate a real-time clock, and act as an SD card loader. The developers keep on adding new features to it, I'm hoping next it will be able to make a perfect cup of Yorkshire Tea lads.

Anyhow, here are a couple of pictures. The second is a close up of a Silica Shop catalogue for the ST that I found on eBay and an original Atari Input/Output magazine courtesy of our man in Hull :)

Cheers Paul. SideCarT is brilliant. I need to look out some more hard drive installable games and add them to it. I know the Amiga is the better of the two 16-bit systems but the ST was my childhood favourite :)

I also had a play at this tonight, lovely arcade racer, like WEC Le Mans. 50fps throughout on the STE.

    FASTER:

The same guy also converted the arcade version of Pole Position to the STE a few years back and got it spot on.

Truly, your Atari corner has got to be one of the BEST on Atari Owner - certainly in the UK amongst our small bretheren. Naturally, Matt would give you a run for yer money in Oklahoma, Al, but your very authentic 70s set-up there with the desk, peripherals, signs, mags, flyers, software and those other lovely little add-ons you've got for your beloved ST definitely shows your passion for all things 8bit and 16bit ATARI - game on, me ol muckah and you're very welcome :) Cheers, Al.

Decided to have a play on the ST tonight. That was around 3 hours ago and I've just turned it off now :)
Kick Off, Sensible Soccer, Arkanoid and a few others all got a bit of a blast. My ST mouse has seen better days though so I plugged in a new old stock Logic 3 mouse and what a difference. Resolution is about 4 times that of the ST mouse and it's much easier to move around the desktop in general.

The hard drive emlator on the SidecarT cartridge is great. Hundreds of ST games have been hacked to run from HDD and a lot of them even include options to save and quit to desktop. Great fun!

    Brilliant to hear, mate.
Amiga's usually get all the headlines and attention and so much praise etc but you cannot beat the Atari system for you that holds all those precious nostalgic game-play experiences from our yoof and you have just shown that the ST is still a worthy games machine - there are super examples from Buggy Boy to the likes of Kick Off, Carrier Command, Sensi, Arkanoid, Stunt Car Racer, Xenon 2, Bubble Bobble, Chaos Engine...and plenty more, that can hold their own today and bring the fun and enjoyment back into your living room and Atari cave, fella.
Cheers for sharing - I really wish the ST bug had bitten me more back then as I do have fond memories but didn't persevere and sold mine... possibly too soon, Al.
Keep the faith and enjoyment passion burning, buddy.
