I bought this a couple of months ago and it's been great but when they released a version in an SP like case I just had to buy it even though it meant losing the analogue sticks. This means that I'm now selling the H (Horizontal).

Got it advertised on Gumtree and Facebook for local collection but if anyone here wants it posted I'll include delivery for £50 (or £40 for the console if you come up to Glasgow and collect it lol).

Comes with 64G micro-sd card full of games. Gameboy, GBC, GBA, NDS, NES, SNES, N64, Atari, Master System, Megadrive, PC Engine, Arcade and many more.
    Dual Joystick Design
    3300 mAh battery
    3.5 INCHES IPS screen
    USB Type-C
    quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU
Fully boxed as good as new with all cables etc.

That was the little console I was trying to find in the car down at Hornsea Andy. I'll bring the SP version along next time for you to look at. Really impressed with them although I still need to dig out a mini HDMI cable and hook it up to a tv. Between that and the Gamestation Pro I've got all my console emulations covered for the living room or when I'm on the go.

Hooked the RG35 up to a monitor using the HDMI connection yesterday. Display quality is excellent and the games play really well on a bigger screen. We'll convert you to our console ways Mr Barr...

That is a lovely bit of kit, was tempted, but I suddenly realised you can't buy stuff with no money in your account. Bit annoying, but what can you do. Watched a couple of reviews, and it came across as excellent, ok, it's not able to handle the big 3D games 100%, but there's so much it plays super well. Really great bit of kit, should sell real easy.

I've just got my Amiga 500 hooked up for the Euro England party tomorrow night round here, guys, with KICK OFF2 games for the lads as the half time break... does that ALMOST count as console gaming, fellas???

    Nah!

    Thought not :)

Yep, must get me head around console gaming and those ruddy gaming controllers... ONE DAY!

ALMOST but not quite Andy :) Wish I lived nearer Hull, I'd be trying to gatecrash your party tomorrow night for some Kick Off 2 action, great game when you have a few mates around. Between that, the original, and Sensible Soccer you have three of the best most playable multiplayer games ever. My A500 Mini gets mainly used for them and Arcade Pool. Brilliant titles indeed.

I meant to say that the RG35XX H has now been repurposed into an emulation station all of its own (else I'm sure we could have worked out a deal Paul). Been so impressed with the Ambernics that I decided to pair the H with a portable 15.6" monitor and use it as my main emulator system in the AL-Cave. The more spread out controls are easier use for longer gaming sessions than the SP layout of the fliplid version.]

Here are a couple of pictures

This is running the DS emulator, the monitor is perfect for showing both screens of the DS as they should be used.
    amber01.jpg

And here it is running the original Gameboy version of Tetris. It uses an overlay filter technique to make the display look as close to the original as possible so it looks great even at this size.
    amber02.jpg

I can highly recommend the portable monitor too. It's brilliant for playing retro games on in 4:3 format, just a very nice size and with decent sound from the built in speakers. Been playing NeoGeo and Lynx games on it as well and both very impressive. Also quickly tried the 2600+ and A500 Mini with it and it was as sweet as a nut :)

It's currently down to £79.99 on Amazon if anyone is in the market for a new display
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C9GVC...4J583QDG&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it

Next step is to try powering the monitor and RG35XX H from a USB power bank.

I can be quite fussy when it comes to emulation and ease of use Paul, but the 35XX consoles have really impressed me. Just tried the original Playstation on it and looks and sounds faultless to me. Also some lovely PC ports and I haven't even looked at lots of the other consoles like Vectrex to see how they are. All I can say is if you get the chance to obtain an RG35XX H then go for it, I don't think you will regret it one bit. The RG35XX SP is a great console as well but the design of that is much more suited to emulating handheld systems along the Gameboy and Gameboy SP vein.

Yeah, that H model is sounding nice, one for another day at the moment, my money is leaving my account faster than rats off a sinking ship. It will all be covered, but it will be tighter than usual. Next month should be much better. Between the cat and the last payment for the mini PC (the newer one), just left it tight.

Been playing around with the various firmwares and just updated the H to the latest. Has some really nice overlays when playing Gameboy games.

Also found some options on the SP version (the one I'm going to use as an actual handheld rather than plug it into a monitor) and now having it autosaving and resuming the current game. Neatest feature though is having it automatically fully shutdown when I close the lid. These little machines are really suprising me the more I play around with them.

Next step is to create an SD card with all my favourite console games on it than I can use in either the H or the SP. Both machines have two card slots so you can just slot it into either and have all your games available.

I wanted a modded Nintendo SP but couldn't afford one. This was about a third of the price and much more versatile.

Yeah, I really like that machine (the H one), maybe one for the future..

Went on a rom download binge, All Gameboy., All USA GB Advance, pretty much every 3DS rom (A mere 1TB plus). Probably will get all the GB Colour, just for completion. God, I remember after me & Maplin went tits up, I played the hell out of the GB Zelda game. Spents quids on the phone to the US when I got stuck. Lol..

    Sad and silly days..

Played Ridge Racer 3D on the 3DS (emulated), not bad at all..

Might get a ROM card for the 3DS, me and Serena both have a 3DS, but the only cards out when we got one was to play DS games off an SD. By now there must be a 3DS version.

All in the future, just loaded the account with the 175.00 quid to complete the Mini PC payment..

Now skint until the 21st :), a feeling that I know we all feel at times..

The RG35XX H and SP are tehnically identical apart from the form factor used. If you do get the opportunity to buy one at some point I would go for it. I've tried a few other machines in past but these are just about prefect for my retro emulation needs for anything before Playstation 2.

Wello done on making the final PC payment and hopefull you also find a 3DS card, like you say there must be something available by now.

I probably will get one of those, probably the 35XX H. Apparently there's 2 3DS cards, but both are a bit expensive. I can emulate, the odd game is a little jumpy as it caches stuff, ok on the 2nd run of the game.

I have plenty going on in the meantime, the old eye's running, never suffered badly from hay fever before, but now it's giving me a kicking. Just generally in low health, but working on it. Taking a few vitamins now.

Must have a crack at some of these PS4 games I've downloaded, will have to kick Serena off the PS5 as we share the same TV. She's going through the Yakuza series of games like a knife through butter. She has 2 left to play, but one is a little too expensive at the mo. She might get the PC version, but again, it's expensive and there's no crack of it, uses some impossible protection. Months out, uncracked.

I read last night that a new update of the PS2 emulator for the PC has been launched. May look at that tonight.

If its PCSX2, then it's updated almost daily... Trouble is, it's by the same people as the Duckstation, so may not want to play well with the lappy.

Ah, I see, they have revised the stable version up to 2.0.3, been a LONG time since 1.6 was out. The preview versions are out daily.

Six months on and I still have my Anbernic console. But it was the H model above that I kept. The SP one eventually got sold and like most things the H wasn't getting played for a while, until I recently went back and had an explore of some Gameboy Advance racing games and it's really been a lot of fun.

Then I was on YouTube and came across the latest Anbernic handheld which takes "inspiration" (ahem) from the original Gameboy Advance console.

    Capture3.JPG

I was looking for an original GBA console last year but couldn't find one with a USB battery and screen mod upgrade at a decent price. Now this little beastie is available for under $70.

What do you guys think, like the retro look?

Here's a review of it as well

Looks nice, but is it any better than the other handheld Retroarch based things?

Baldy (his choice) was very invested in it being like a GBA, but you want it to play plenty of things well. What I saw from the video was good, PSP's do need a big cpu, especially for God of War. Me and small screens don't mix well, my eyes are dodgy on near stuff, so the bigger the screen the better (up to a certain size, I don't like seeing individual pixels, a bit of TV softness needed)

If it's better than your other handhelds then sure, otherwise it's just filling a gap that probably does not need filled.

It's the same as all the other Ambernic consoles but in a very GBA like case. And I think that is the appeal of this particular model. Previously if you wanted a GBA with a nice screen and good battery you had to mod an original and it could cost you upwards of £140. This does the job even better for half that price.

I'll be going for one when I have the money so I can get the full GBA-like experience. At that point, I'll sell on my current Ambernic 35XX-H as right now it's almost used exlcusively for playing GBA and the odd GB game. I've got original N64 and Megadrive consoles and the Gamestation Pro as well as my PC and laptop for emulation purposes. Right now I just want as close to a Gameboy Advance in look and feel as possible.

Be interesting if they eventually bring out one that looks like a PSP!

In terms of GBA look and feel, yeah, it has that in spades, so if that's your desire (which it is) then the old one in, one out is an easy way to get what you want with almost no outlay.

    Go for it...

As for the PSP case, hmm, unlike the GBA case, it's not very interesting in design (to me), but who knows.
