Lads, if yer interested in acquiring some old retro original software titles, then have a look at these surplus big box games/sims and a util that need to go here: There are 11 Amiga titles: Just one each for the Beeb (x2 ROMS) and C64: and then there are four ATARI ST (E) titles: Just PM me with your best offer(s) for some of it, all of it etc. ie state what you are interested in. I am not looking for top prices - I will take any offer on merits - but of course factor in P&P to be added. I will send these economy post so that's generally £3 minimum UK and approx £8-10 min. Europe (all depends on weight - ie how many of the titles you want). As for USA - god, to even send a magazine to the States it's nigh on £20 these days so these would have to mean a helluvalot to Matt for our mate to make a move but I would predict that these titles & formats are of zero interest to Matt and say Tim? To try to make it fair for all the regulars I will give everyone til New Years Day to have a look and get back to me and then I will inform folks who's got what - I hope that's acceptable as I know it's normal to have 1st come 1st served but if person A jumps in immediately and say offers me £20-30 for the lot and then persons B, C, D and E don;t even get a look in - until it's too late - then it's a shame that say a decent s/ware collection gets hoovered up at once rather than get split and make several of the guys on here happy...does that make sense and are you happy with me giving everyone a few days? Comments as ever, most appreciated and once more - please PM letting me know what you want and your best offer (once more, I'm not looking for top dollar prices - so long as these go to a good new home that's me happy and if a make a few quid, fair dos - it keeps me, Bev, the cat, hedgehogs and fox off the streets!) Cheers, fellas and happy software offerings.
Best of luck there Andy, some nice titles there (that look familiar) Come on folks, get them while they are hot. I'm slimming my stock down but there are some real goodies in that, I'm sure Andy will send it in a brown bag with "NOT COMPUTER SOFTWARE...HONEST" in case the other half isn't so keen. Lets keep those animals safe off the streets Seriously, get the stuff at sensible prices, we all know what ebay looks like and the greed there, so fill your boots.
Thanks, Paul. You're the 1st to comment. I thought I might have had 1-2 offers for some by now but not a dicky bird. Never mind - maybe these titles are just too old and surplus to everyone's requirements and folks are understandably wanting to trim their once-burgeoning collections and these big boxes do take up precious space. Anyway, I'll bang em on the local Faceache and Gumtree/Preloved selling sites tomorrow if no one gets back to me and they can go to collectors elsewhere. All the best everyone - 2022 has got to be better than 2020 & 2021... hasn't it???!!!
I did take a look Andy, but slimmed down my big box computer collection a while back. The only boxed games I have now are Sensible Soccer, Kick Off, and Football Manager variants. Plus some A8 titles of course. Best of luck with selling them matey. You have an Oric habit to fund...
I'm stunned there's been no offers, the disks I sent you were all in mint shape, deffo worth some cash as is all of that collection. I saw the advert the other day and just thought I'd look see and expected 99% to be gone. Oh well, get them on those other sites Andy. As for me, I'm determined to be 99% digital except for titles that were sent to me (they stay as a thank you for the generosity shown). Saying that, the whole flat needs a real clear out, it's been filled with stuff from Bob and old clothing etc for too long. Must find out what the charity shops are like for donations, as we would not like to see them just binned.
Cheers, fellas. Good to get some feedback. Al - totally understand, mate. I only keep the software now that means lots to me from way back OR titles that are added to the Oric library (got about 300-400 tapes for that bad boy set-up) so it's got to be something meaningful to me - just like Paul mentions - it's got to be something 'special' and yes, I still have your software such as the Amiga 500 starter titles and that beautifully-boxed Defender of the Crown which is simply wonderful and not going anywhere: Yep, they simply don't make em like this anymore, Paul, and I'll treasure it for always as it was a very generous and special gift from you, mate. The other stuff though I will list on Marketplace etc tomorrow. I might end up hanging on to the Beeb and C64 titles - again, there's my 8bit memories preference / bias rejecting the 16bit stuff! All the best, fellas.
Andy, it's yours, do what you want with it...I sent it to you because it was getting no love or play from me and I thought the games would be a nice gift for a mate. That Defender was just a great bit of packaging, puts the disk and cover sheet / instructions to shame on these new machines.
Thanking you, Paul. It's a wonderful example of big box magic and it'll always remind me of you, mate. They knew how to properly package back in the 90s! Many many thanks.
300-400 Oric tapes? I never realised there was so many titles available for the little machine, wow! That deserves a photoshoot at some point Andy. Think my biggest collection is around 80 PS2 games.
I would have previously, Al, but it would have only hurt your eyes, mate! Will upload later, mate and I'm sure that you're 80 PS2 games are far more interesting, absorbing and worthwhile! (299 are of mag listing quality!!)
Guys - quick update - virtually all the Amiga s/ware has gone apart from Gunship and Links. Atari ST boxes and the Beeb and C64 title remain at present but I am sure they will be gone soon too so just a gentle reminder if you were fancying em but wondered whether or not to try a cheeky offer of a quid - that'd do (probably - I'll check with the fox) ;-)
Cheers, Paul. Have a good weekend "hunkering down". Once more, ruddy 'orrible out there or as we say in't Ull, it's nithering or bloody cawld out.
Yes, went out earlier and then a bit later to get gas and it was even worse. The same time, I get an email from our water company telling us that there are wonderful places to go on strolls to....Sod that..
