Andy, does your Erebus load the .tap file Okay? Maybe the copy protection is beating the conversion software.
Maybe Mr. "Musepat" has an original Hellion tape? https://www.leboncoin.fr/informatique/1367422493.htm/
Yeah, another good call, Manu. I have been in touch with Musepat once or twice over the years. He has quite a nice Oric software collection and is also interested in swapping the odd game/mag/Oric item of interest. How are you doing, buddy, some days better than others I hope? Thinking of you and the family at this end, mate. Take lots of good care and speak soon.
Dimitris - I haven't as yet been able to trace my Erebus (wholesale packing away has started this end before the staircase gets replaced up to the attic) to do any further testing of the game and its loading hangups. However, I have found a spare original tape copy of THE HELLION. If you wanted to make an offer for it - that's if you wanted the original, Mr D, just drop me a PM.
Aah, thank you very much Andy, but I have to say that collecting originals is not my cup of tea... I just want the bloody WAV thing to load as expected!! Meanwhile I have sent a message to the frenchman, requesting his own WAV/MP3 copy, if possible, and I am waiting for his answer... That whole thing makes no sense, as in the video this guy loads a converted sound (recorded to tape) from the very same source as we do... So the procedure is exactly the same and, in fact, it has more chances to load directly from a freshly generated clean sound than after recording and playing from tape, with all the noise and wow & flutter that old tape recorders produce... Unless our friend the frenchman is not telling us the truth about the exact steps that he followed, as you can see he doesn't include the whole loading time in the video... Perhaps some magic/secret involved???
No worries, Mr K, and yes, I agree with you and Graham... Cosmic forces are at work here - we need answers from the monsieur!
