Just Found: Joust for the Commodore 64

    It looks almost exactly like the Atari version, but then it was made by Atari apparently...

    Right, it was an AtariSoft production, although the sound doesn't seem to be as rich as on the Atari home computer version. Still, I am very happy to see this released so C64 folk can enjoy the game, too.

    I had heard (read) a rumor years ago that Atari intentionally made versions of their software for competing computers inferior to the Atari versions in an attempt to get people to buy Atari computers. I've never tried Atari software on other systems, but I think this is proof that the rumor is untrue; it looks like they did the best they could to make the C64 version of Joust as good. Though I think maybe they just made sure the games were as good, but no better, as I do think the C64 version could have been more colorful since the C64 does have more sprites and could have had more colorful sprites overlaying each other, more like the ST version.
