...we catch up with the latest Speccy hardware release from Sinclair: Hang on, that's 36 years ago in old money. Anyone else feeling ANCIENT? Seems like bleedin' yesterday... https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1322901541554450
I just never had the itch for a Speccy in any format, I know it makes me a bit of a loner for not liking a machine that became so beloved, but hey, that's me. When he launched it, I thought he was insane having as the news showed, the C5 etc had just gone toxic, but he got the last laugh. As for feeling ancient, I was just reading that Jean-Claude Van Damme is going to retire from acting after his latest film premiers. He's the same age as me, 61. God, that makes me feel old, but I don't think old, I'm still the childish pillock I've always been (in my head). Serena says she never knows what I'm going to do or say when we are out because I still do the silly stuff I've done all my life. I rather that than be seen as a Roy Cropper type...Dead pan serious and full of tedious suggestions on how to do stuff...Roy's rolls, my arse... One thing has never changed with me, my ability to just ignore the Speccy series even though I know there are some good games on it, I just can't sit down and play them... So much for me saying that I go where the good games are... And yes, it's true, I did verbally abuse Jon Ritman at a show
Yep, just in case you didn't know - and clearly Paul does! - Jon Ritman being the one and the very same J.Ritman of ex-Artic Computing of Hull programming fame who went on to write Match Day for Ocean (and Match Day II?) on the Commodore, Speccy and Beeb computers - FYI.
Wasn't much of a Speccy fan either but it certainly had some effect especially on the British home micro front back in the 80's. Love seeing these old news clips and such like though.
