I passed Allan my one as he needed more ram...Wasn't needed any more as I have an Ultimate 1MB..He might want to flog it?
I in turn passed it on to a friend who I've been pestering for it back as I can't play some games on my 800XL (like Commando for instance). Hoping to get it back shortly. Have you tried somewehre like RetroLemon or do you just need the board a loan of for some diagnostics?
HI Allan and Andy, I'm trying to get one of these permanently. I'll see if they come up anywhere else. Thanks for the offer of the loan Andy. I'm fine thanks, I've officially become a Senior Citizen this month, so 1 foot in the grave. LOL Regards Andy
I've got both feet and up to my knee's in senior citizen..60+ bus pass and all.....Still feel young tho. As for the Sys Check, I doubt he has any in stock as the needed parts are pretty hard to get and I doubt he has enough orders for a batch run. Your best bet (depending if you can solder) is to get a bare PCB if he has any and source the parts locally (if you can). From memory, there's nothing mega special on the board, just some 4164's and a few logic chips etc.. Just checked Jurgens PDF (the maker of Syscheck 2.2) and it seems he has them in stock, the battery backed up is 55 Euro and the XL and XE versions are 42 (no battery backup tho) You have to mail him for delivery cost tf_hh@gmx.de Really nice guy, responds quickly and ships fast. Link to the PDF of his https://www.van-radecke.de/STUFF/tfhh_HW_info.pdf It's the only way he sells them, no actual web site.. But he's sound as a pound (old on, the pound aint that sound, thanks Rishi & co), tis ok, brought from him many times..
No problem, good price too..If anyone over here had them in stock it would have cost a pretty penny extra, depending on the item I normally see at least a 20 quid add on.
Great advice from Paul and good luck with the purchase, Andy. I think us lot on ere have been the pseudo cast for Last of the Summer Wine for some time - so just carry on maturing like a good ol bottle of chateau Sarsons me ol muckah! Cheers, fellas and all the best, Andy
I just like helping people..It's the done thing amongst us lot on here, and so it should be. Mr Barr, how very dare you cast me as a Northerner..I don't even own a set of wellies...Nor a cap, let alone a whippet..
Is it an XL or XE Syscheck you need? I have a spare of the original XL/XE Sys-check that works with either, but, I made a custom case for it from an old compact cassette case and hot-glued the board into the case, which hides the XE connection end. So if you need it for an XE then you will have to remove and clean up the board. This was one of the last hand-made custom cases I ever did, along with another Sys-check 2.0 version for my 1200XL that connects horizontally instead of vertically, before I got my 3D printer. It was for a friends 800XL I was refurbishing and upgrading for him, but I later decided to do an U1MB & Turbo Freezer upgrades. So it's just sitting here collecting dust until the eventual (but unlikely) event I ever do a PBI upgrade to the extra 1200XL I have from dragging my feet until @Paul "Mclaneinc" Irvine found another benefactor much more on the ball with actual delivery. But more likely I'll just keep it stock now, aside from a few minor upgrade "fixes" like S-video and +5V to the SIO, etc. But maybe you have an XL and like my custom case? I can sell it to you for a special price, or maybe we can make a trade?
