Have a look at this screenshot....Spot the obvious.. Now this is an actual tape for the Gremlin Graphics game, He-Man: Masters of the Universe.. The other file was authored on to the tape, who did it we don't know, but it's clear that Gremlin didn't know either as it could have caused a HUGE stink at the time. I have yet to look at said prg file to see actually what it is, and I've only just found out about this from one of the scene guys I know. Made me smile..
LOL! Not sure how that filename crept past the software house checks and production tape people but there you go, Paul. Maybe someone with an anarchistic leaning thought to themselves "It's the dog's bollocks, this title, so why not?!"
It's only on the tape which suggest to me that it was the programmer, unlike disks which can have titles easily listed a tape back then would just check that the first title is the game's loader, and then they would just produce the tape. Pretty sure that would be programmer territory only. I checked the file, it does nothing, will do a hex dump to see if there's any text, but I bet it was just the buzz to put it out there for the guy. Slightly interesting is that it's on 99% of what I know are full uncracked dumps of the tapes, but there are a couple of official ones that don't have the file, I wonder if they found out and removed it on later runs.. Bloody awful game though, they got the music right, but the gameplay was junk, I took it back and got a different game back then.
Just hex edited the files and there is no text (unless it's been Xor'ed), seems just getting the file on the tape was the main achievement..
