- So, what about either New Year's Day (Friday) or Sunday 3rd, fellas?

It would be great to get 4-5 or even more together if we could but if it's just 2-3 of us then so be it.

Clearly, we don't want to interfere with one another's important family time so, avoiding Al's Old Firm match too - which is literally life or death for those not in the picture in this clash of the Scottish footballing titans coming together -

I'll suggest:

Sunday 3rd Jan 2021 at 2pm UK time.

It's nothing more than a suggestion, folks (gives us a few days to put the word around too), so by all means, if that doesn't work for you then just holler and we'll look at changing it to another day/time. It would be great to also have Matt and Tim with us and I realise this could mean a damn early start time for you in the States (8am?) so we could easily push it back by an hour or two if you did fancy joining in guys?

In the recent past, me, Paul, Al, Richie and Manu have managed a Sunday at this kind of time slot for an hour etc. so it's nothing more than a starting point and up for discussion/amendment as folks see fit.

Anyone though, up for the above - provisionally - say AYE!

Oh, and what software worked best last time out? Mircosoft Teams, Itsy, Google Meet, Zoom?

IIRC, Manu was our system wizard and he set all the cogs and links in motion... anyhow, we've a few days to sort it, guys.

Hope to see you "in the flesh" real soon and of course - we like to set a novelty theme so if anyone has an idea like... "Bring a vaccine" party etc, you get the idea!

I just thought it best to flag this thread up again as we hope to join together online for a bit of a video conference chat tomorrow afternoon at 2pm UK time.

So far, me, Paul and Graham have said we'd be up for this and Manu (Klyde) and Nysavant Al have also expressed a definite interest. Further, Klyde was hoping to get Alex Drito (Dave-ex Cercamon) along for the "ride" too!? Richie sends his best, guys, but the Vyper is a little busy his end with things and hopes to tune in on another future link-up.

I make that 3 for sures plus 2 probables and maybe another one too so we might make a Super Sixer...

We will see.

PREPARING IN ADVANCE - would one of the more techno-savvy comms guys amongst us PLEASE create some kind of link beforehand and choose a video conference program which is not so resource-hungry or intensive as my laptop aint the most modern of machines!!

We have only just finished and ended the call. But I think we all thought it was worth doing again and maybe even a little more regularly.
I hope all went well with your inlaws, although I'm not sure why they are ranting and raving to you guys. Seems a shame that you and Cindy are taking the brunt of their Hmm Loudness.

 

Hi folks, I took the full brunt of the in laws on my own, Cindy was feeling fit enough (bloody covid long), at the moment I pretty much do everything, shopping, washing, housework and sorting out mad in laws...I'm happy for all but the last one but it leaves me shattered at times, again, thanks COVID!

Seems they were having a disagreement based on dementia and sharons 'voices', basically it was just nonsense but they needed food so I had to shop for them. Its getting to the point that there's actual fighting / pushing going on which I read the riot act out to both but I doubt they will stick to it.

Andy and those Orics, good thing he fires blanks or there could be some very odd looking mini Orics out there..

Seriously I hope it was fun for all, when I got back I sat down and almost went to sleep, well I might have dozed for a few mins?

Second time I've had to miss a 'meet. because of the in laws but looking forward to the next one, mind you will the hoax covid mutate again and do us all again. Sorry, I used the word hoax based on the group of idiots who sat outside Guy's Hospital (last night?) screaming that COVID was a hoax. I'm pretty sure the very overworked nurses and Doctors might not agree with them. To be honest the docs and nurses should have went out to them and given them a good reason to be in hospital, a large boot in the kinackers would do..

Rotten luck you getting it in the ear again, mate.

You missed me embracing the New Year by getting amorous with an Atmos and Al showed us all what he keeps under his kilt...

A spare Amstrad 6128(!)

Graham absolutely blew the pair of us away by taking us on a techie tour of his mancave workshop and my... what he hasn't got in there isn't worth having.

He's got pulse rifles, shape shifters, time distorters, energy matter transformers and Ataris and it's basically it's all compatible with a standard ZX81 - so long as you have the non-wobble 128mb RAM pack.

We really had quite a hoot and certainly kept one another amused and enthralled for the TWO HOURS (as near as damn it) as we went through the trials and tribulations of: Christmas, t-shirts, socks, weighing machines, parachutes for safely getting around Baz's biome, SD devices, interfaces, Memotechs, Orics (of course), 3" disk drives, Atari expansions (every mother known to man and then some), Amstrad 6128s, ZX Spectrums, C64 add on virtual disk/tape drives, getting married in a sock...(?!) plus an incredible talk from Graham on bouncing morse code radio signals off the moon - I kid ye not.
