  1. ATARI 800

Hi guys. No long descriptioin here as you will all know exactly what this is :)
Atari 800 home computer in perfect working order.
Comes with all cables and a Retro Shack RGB Scart as well.
Also included is a perspex dust cover to keep your new purchase protected. Don't see this cover very often so it's a nice thing to have.

Had this piece of vintage computer history for many years and only deciding to reluctantly sell now as I want to expand my XL collection instead and get some of my other later Atari 8-bits out on display.

I'm up in Glasgow but don't want to post as these machines weigh a ton. I'm down in North Yorkshire again soon though so happy to meetup with it while on my travels across the border.

Got this advertised on Facebook and Gumtree at £400 but happy to do a discounted deal with any of the regulars on here in the knowledge that Henry (that's his name) would be going to a good home :)

  2. It's in excellent order, Al.
    I am sorely tempted.
I am about to acquire a BOXED Oric Atmos and it's cost me £150.
Can we possibly do a trade deal? No, don't mention any tariffs!
Naturally, for you, I'd ensure that the Atmos came with extras (software, mags, a cpl of books etc) to make it worth more like £200 if you were to part with it in the future. As you know, Atmoses are doing nothing but skyrocket so you might make more if the market's feeling generous.
We're meant to be meeting up Sun 28th Sept in Brid/Scarboro yed?
Perhaps between now and then we have time to make a deal - Atmos plus cash - the kinda deal that would even blow Donald Duck away, I mean Trump.
Let me know your thoughts, Al.
This machine is undoubtedly a beauty and like you say, it can't be risked sent through the post as the chances are it would receive a hit and the cases are renowned for having become brittle and smash easily...
Some of you may well recall that Atari 400 I had that arrived smashed then when I moved it on to another guy he custom rebuilt it - he needed to - half the original parts had been pulverised in the post.
HAVE A TOP BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND, FELLAS.

  3. Let me have a think Andy. Wasn't really looking for another machine but you know I've always had a soft spot for the Atmos!

I'd spoke to Richie about it before as well and mentioned I'd be heading down end of September so would need to give him first dibs if he was was still interested...

  4. More than fair, Al.
I was gonna suggest I wonder if Richie fancies meeting up that day too if he's free and fancies a drive down to either Scarboro or Brid?
Keep me in the loop and no worries if you need the full lolly - understood, fella.

  5. That would be a great idea if all three of us could meet up. All we would need then is Paul for an official Atari Owners Club meeting!

I'm reading up on Atmos stuff right now....

  7. I'm gonna have to pass on the 800 Al, Just cannot make the maths work so I will have to stick with my XL and XE, they will have to be enough for me.
I am on a console kick at the moment so I'm not really using my computers.

  8. No problem mate. Anything else in your sights apart from the Megadrive?

I recently got a Switch again and really enjoying that.

  9. Well, I have an 800 shaped space in my ever decreasing collection now. But it has went to a good home.

Now, what to fill the gap with???

  10. Aw, buddy - missing the old battle tank already? I'm not surprised, mate. Quality item... reet now I'm umming and ahhing over a Commodore PET - even bigger than your old gal, Al... but where the hell would I put one of those hulking monsters? Nowhere, is the answer - I aint got the room so I'm forgetting I'm interested before I even go down the make an offer route. Btw, mate, me MX5 failed its MOT for 2nd time today - emissions still the issue - CO2 sensor or cat convertor shafted and me pacemaker's playing oop when I went down the hossie this avvy - it needs tweaking apparently... again. Stroll on - if it aint one thing tis another and it aint that the truth, lads?
PS Hope you got what you wanted for it, Al - £350-400?

  11. I had one last play with it before the guy came along and got it Andy. It was the right time to let it go. And I have a couiple of things in mind to fill the space that will also get used a lot more. Now I'm striclty 800XL systems when it comes to the Atari 8-bitters.

  12. By the way, the new owner has large Atari collection and over 100 consoles - many of them sealed!

  13. What a bugger about the MX5 Andy, that's not good news mate. Hopefully back on the road after the 'tweeks' :(

A PET eh? I like the design of them but don't think I'd know what to do with one!

  14. Aye, if the 800 was taking up much needed space, Al, just imagine finding room for this bugger:
