As some of you know, I've had a bunch of my stuff still packed away in my storage shed for the last 5 years. Well, today I finally got around to dragging it all out, sorting through it, taking stock, and then finally bringing the last of my audio/video/console/computer equipment out of storage and in the process of being gone through, cleaned, tested, and eventually will be set up again. Part of which is an 80's JVC rack stereo system: Amplifier, two tape decks (not one dual), reciever. The equalizer for it was lost in the storage robbery as it wasn't working and wasn't with the rest of the JVC system. So I'll have to replace it. Other audio/video equipment includes Pioneer turn-table and Laser-disc players, RCA Selectavision CED and VHS players, Sony professional S-VHS player and Masterwork 8-track player. I will show these all off in photos once my room is complete and they are readied and set up. By Christmas for sure. Some things I am showing off now are my long-lost and very welcomed to have back Analog/Digital trainer P.A.D I built nearly two decades ago while attending a tech college for electronics. I've been desperately missing it for testing and prototype DIY work. I was afraid it had been lost with much more in my storage unit robbery. Also, I found a box of vintage NOS PC mobo's, other boards and a large selection of vintage processors like 486's, 686's and Pentiums. I'm going to start selling them on ebay to finance more 8-bit toys! I will take stock and make a list of all the PC stuff shown in the pictures, in case anyone here is into vintage PC stuff. But if you see something you know what it is and want it, let me know. Multiples of most of the CPU's too. This is about half of what I have total, even after losing tons more from the storage robbery. Also a bunch of vintage floppy, cd and HDD drives not shown, of all physical and capacity sizes.
Hi Matt Looks like you have found some nice items hidden away their, A word of caution, I've seen at least two M/B's that have the old style Ni-Cd batteries, as these will at some point leak a strong Alkali on the board it maybe best to remove them. usually easy to find the bleeder resistor to charge these remove that and use a coin cell holder with a 2032 or similar, if they do leak they can wreck the board by disolving the tracks and worse the via's I look forward to seeing the items listed at some point, and may well be up for a purchase or maybe a swap, maybe that BBC 'B' could be yours. if you have a black faced 1.2MByte IBM drive please reserve that for me if it's something your willing to sell
Some fascinating and much-loved kit there, Matt, which must bring back so many really good memories for you from your heydays. So glad it escaped the heist (hope the barstewards responsible for that despicable act rot in retro hell) and you're now able to go through it all, bring some of it back to life and put back into operation enriching your man cave current set-up and also raise a few readies to finance future 8bit enrichment... what goes around comes around and you deserve plenty of good stuff to come from future sales, mate.
Thanks for the warning about the batteries on the mobo's @Graham , I didn't even notice before you mentioned it, but looking again at the photos myself (the parts are once again boxed up until I can sort them) it looks like at least one battery has already started leaking on one of the boards and I'll have to get them cleaned up asap and repair any damage to traces there, if it's to late to clean them off and save them!
