Last month when he had a sunny Saturday I took a trip down the motorway to the Dumfries & Galloway Aviation Museum and then the Solway Aviation Museum. It was a lovely day for a look around and not too busy at either so had plenty of time to get up close to some of the planes. Here are the pictures, I'll let them do the talking.... The reason for the Chuck Yeager sign was that when I fly into West Virginia the local airport is named after him, and the final picture is of Spiney Norman, an ex RAF bus that featured on an episode of the car auction telly programme Bangers and Cash (of which I am a big fan).
Frickin fantastic, Al. Must see this museum myself one day but your pics do it terrific justice. Would you be interested in joining our FaceAche F-Stop photo forum? It's only a small group (10 of us) but your pics would be of great interest to the others as you certainly have a sharp eye and skill for photography. Lovely work, mate, and it's looks a great museum there - lurve the old jet and helichopper relics (Wessex and a Scout in there?) and the dummies / control tower etc.
I'm not really into planes a great deal but you can't fail to be impressed when you see these old beauties up close. Sign me up Mr Barr
