    Evening, guys.

I propose a new thread - bit like What's New Pussycat Too - for when we stumble upon something which nearly takes our breath away for sale on our "fave" auction site and you ask yourself that six million dollar question...

    HOW RUDDY MUCH?!?

    or

    YOU HAVING A TURKISH?!?

To get the ball rolling, ere we go - 18/08/2024 - you can pick up for a mere £150 nicker, the best Hans Christian Anderson written blurb ever for an Oric game (it is virtually impossible to get past the 1st couple of screens as the collision detection is so bad the baddies always get you around screen 2-3 so the descriptions of the levels afterwards are complete works of fiction).
Anyway, to have the mother of all frustrating experiences ever on an arcade game, get yer wonga spent on this waste of time:

and is it RARE? About as rare as Manic Miner on the Speccy, so that's a resounding NO!! :)

Good topic Andy, I'm sure it will be popular what with all those RARE and RETRO 'bargains' that people advertise on the Bay.

You got it, Al, but if you wax lyrical about anything long enough - and stick it photographed on a toast rack like it 's being "exhibited" as is it's some rare dug-up artefact - some poor (they will be soon), deluded sad barsteward somewhere just might part with their well-earned spoondooleys.... hopefully :)

No wonder that cassette is on what looks similar to a stripped hospital bed, it's clearly insane...

PS, from a man who lived within the sound of Bow Bells (you are classed as proper Cockney if you were born within the sound of the bells) it's the first time I have heard of "Having a Turkish".

I get it but new to me...

Are you sure you are not having a Turkish and making these up :)

Completely, mate. You know me, Paul.
If the punters wanna spend their bees and honey on an Oric box of toys then they must be scotch mist, is al i'm saying, guv'nor.

Saying the word, Mate, is about as cockney as I get. I have a slant of the accent, but when I was in Marlow I was dead posh, when in Florida, I had an American slant. The thought of sounding like a Cockney tit-head does not appeal to me.

Yeah it's all fun, just not my smiley self at the mo, being hassled by rent people, watching felix sit around as a bag of bones is depressing. He wants to be loved and tickled, but clearly it's hard on him. Can't eat, just feel set upon, and having to watch my boy just fade away is not good. He's sat at my feet now.

    Sorry, too much info...

    Really sorry to hear, Paul.
Feel for you guys n Felix.
Being animal lovers we couldn't be wishing anything other than wanting him to get better and put a smile back on all your faces.
We know you'll do the right thing and stand by him whilst there's hope...

Me grandad was a cockney and by god he used to get on me dad's nerves (he was me mother's dad).
Talk about regular know it all and "You don't wanna do it like that, do it like THIS!" but I must admit, Roy was one helluva boy, incredible amounts of energy even into his mid 70s doing parachute jumps and did so much good for the community and Scouting fraternity... he was just never there for me gran so she divorced him.
God bless em both - now long gone and I miss both their amazing characters.
Take care, mate and love to Felix.

    Thanks, was just feeling low.

Rent people now sorted and happy, Felix is no better, he keeps hanging on which is lovely, hope he's not suffering too much tho. He does purr and was wolfing down crunchies. I think what set me off last night was that we had to wash his bum and foot as he had pooh on them. The water made his fur stick to him and you could see all his bones. He's all dry now and a bit more fluffed up. He's a tough old boy, proud of him, and love him to bits.

I think we all have a "You don't want to do it like That!" in the family, he sounded like a real character..
