Just a very quick, shocking video "escape" to showcase Vyper Richie's great work fixing the composite output on my x2 original stock ZX81s... You'll be horrified to hear more is to follow when we get back from our walk as I must load up some original games and show you how clear the output now is.... THANKS TO RICH! Cheers, mate - cheers, lads.
Technically, the ZX80 was my first computer, but I quickly got the 81 and a ram pack a while later. Had some good fun on it, just hated the type in's that suddenly hit RAM pack wobble and it was gone, hours of typing...GONE... And it happened so many times...No matter how well and steady the pack was attached..Blam...
Forget about external RAM wobblers, Paul - Richie is the man for installing immovable internal RAMs too and his slick upgrade on this already 3rd party equipped Fuller keyboard'd ZX81 really is neat - take it away, Richie, and once more, mate... THANK YOU VERY MUCH for such a grand, smart, neat job, buddy. Thanks once more for a great job on the composite output, Richie - clear and sharp as can be - I'm massively and well-chuffed, mate! What a smart Zeddy this Fuller-equipped one is - the pride of my Sinclair machines without doubt: THANK YOU!
This is the Video mod fitted to Andy's Fuller ZX81 ZX8-CCB VIDEO MOD FOR SINCLAIR ZX80 AND ZX81 It is probably the best picture I have ever managed to get on a Zeddie unless you get a Chroma SCART interface. Well worth it if you are a big ZX81 fan.
The picture is sharp, clear and crisp - thank you very much, me ol muckah! The ZX81 lives again and this autumn will see much more Sinclair action as I gan through some old and new faves to showcase just what this little beauty is capable - now with enhanced clear output - thanks to Richie - much appreciated - cheers, mate.
Not gonna comment on the footie as Villa have not had the best of starts and I think they will struggle to be honest. Did you notice I put the keyword stickers back on the keycaps? The originals had mostly fallen off so it seemed like a good thing to do.
Ah, mate...do you know, I knew there was something else enhanced and at 1st thought you'd repainted the "Fuller" bit in red but then I thought, nah, it looks a bit rough at the edges like I've done it... PMSL! Then I wondered if you'd given it all a good rub down, clean and vac etc... and I still couldn't put my finger on it. YES! Of course I can see now - the old key stickers were a bit battle-worn and I'll try and dig out a before and after to show this - you are very kind and thoughtful, buddy - many many thanks and this is typical of your approach to getting the job done and then some going the extra mile etc. The whole effect is a lot smarter, newer and working better than ever. I know you quite fancied this little beauty and who knows in the future, eh? Maybe we can get one of the other two upgraded with a 3rd party full travel keyboard fitted and then you can have that - we'll keep our eyes peeled, fella. Cheers, Rich and here's to a good game at the SOL vs Villa - tough match today away at Palace - is Paul ganning?!
Now then.... anyone out there believe in coincidences? Here's one for you. I met up with your mate and mine, Al, about 30miles from here this lunch and unbeknown to him, I'd been skegging through me ol computer mags and came across one with a certain "flexi disc" in it that I was planning on posting on here tonight to carry on the ol ZX81 thread - The Future was Black and White. So, we get sat down with our cups of teas, toasted tea cakes and fish finger sarnies etc, and Al shows me some pics he's been taking lately of his visits to retro computer museums and the like... some lovely shots of old Oric micros, a Lynx, lots of consoles / a blue PS2 (asking £2.9k for it!) and then... a picture of a ZX81 flexi disc.... yes, the very same as THIS ONE being posted reet now - what's the odds on that, Sir Clive?! Answers on a RAM PACK (preferably non-wobbling) to the usual address. OK, on with the post. Which one of you rocket scientists is going to predict which barmy project Baz is gonna tackle next, considering Bev's just got him a modern MP3 style turntable for his boffday??? ABOVE & BELOW - what in the name of Sinclair has Baz got in mind with this medieval mockery?? You really couldn't mek it up, folks.
What the hell did you put in my tea Andy?? I don't remember spinning any vinyl down at the Glen Gardens over-50's afternoon!!
Yep, they say the camera never lies, buddy, and here we see you clear as day with your swishy swipey phone being used as headphones while you master mix the discs and prep the next rapping track on the turntable there, DJ TETLEY TEA When will you be releasing your next record, Al, in the run-up to Chrimbo?! We need to know here at Atari Owner so we can get our lists off to Satan, sorry, Santa for the Big Day!
