Wow, get this young lady, lads. Sayaka showing us all how to sort out a poorly 800XL & 130XE and her tips and tricks just might assist us going forward if Richie's repair shop is ever chocka full & he's got his hands tied - highly recommended, fellas, as her guiding steps, explanations and diagrams make even someone hopeless with electronics like me have some hope: My Mom Bought an Atari 800XL - Can I Fix It?! Rich - please feedback - just how impressed are you by her care, use of technology (eg. visualiser which zooms in to areas and produces a neat enlarged image on your monitor and she's a whizz with an oscilloscope etc), plus that foil strip fix all look pretty neat from this end. Plus, she even restores boxes back to looking like new again. She's some gal, aint she?
LOL! I can see where yer coming from with the beauty bit, Al.... !! Taking another day's sicky this end, mate. Guts still aint reet but getting a bit more sleep at least. Not enough to fix an Atari tho... I'll leave that kinda thing to Rich as he deffo has both commodities
That lassie was on a podcast a few months ago, really interesting and nice to see younger folk get involved. Sounds like you have a right bad dose of it there Andy. Best stay inside and rest up. I'm coming down with a head cold here but need to go into work as some new starts next week and a pile of other bits to get done too. Thankfully only 3 weeks until I'm back down in Scarbados. Really looking forward to it, never gets old (unlike us lot!).
Yes, Sayaka's no doubt becoming a retro computing starlet, Al and it's great to see young talent coming through. Aye, I've definitely damaged me guts with whatever triggered off my IBS this time, mate. It looks like the vindaloo was too hot for this sassenach to handle. Sorry to hear you're having a few health issues too and good luck with the work preps for new starters and aye, here's to a meet-up on the east coast soon - hopefully we'll be reet by then and we might have company in the shape of the F STOP photo crew, mate, if you post a request on their FaceAche group page - the lads would love to meet you out at Withernsea for a sesh!
