Take it away Lesley Judd - freed from Blue Peter - to ask the questions of a resident boffin (no, not Mac - you hear him in the background just the once when he makes a dad's joke about printer drivers!) So, what yer gonna choose, fellas, on your income back then as you are presented with 7pin dot matrix, daisy wheel and laser printers costing £3k?! Yep, that's the best bet - loan your school's fire-breathing thermal sparking monstrosity in the form of a ZX-Printer!
Lovely little clip there. I remember having a Star LC10 (I have one again in my retro corner but haven't tried to print with it). The I progressed on to a Canon Bubblejet BJ10 that I bought down in Tottenham Court Road. That was pretty much it until I bought an HP Deskjet 500 inkjet for around £600 from Escom many years later! Now I have a lovely Brother laser printer which cost me under £50 from Argos about 3 years ago and is lucky if it gets used once a year! Just don't print stuff nowadays. Back in the 80's and 90's I was always doing banners or certificates for people using software like Printmaster.
