Alex, did you flunk maths Two systems... I'm sort of in the same spot as Alex, I can't narrow it down to two...As I'm lucky enough to Have the C64 and Ultimate II+ Already, it would be a hard choice between Amiga And Atari 8bit...Probably the Amiga if pushed.. I avoided fantasy setups, like 1450XLD or super expensive stuff.
Oh sorry, it was limited to two systems... Then C64 and Amiga, no doubt about it - they are the 8/16 bit systems of my youth and I have learned to code and much about computers on these two machines. And for me things to do on these Commodores are basically endless (games, demos, coding, modern and vintage peripherals, etc.)
Interesting to hear a couple more choices of favourite systems, thanks guys. I would still pick the 800XL, mainly because it was my first proper computer and holds lots of lovely memories. Second system would still be the Amiga but only a slight margin ahead of the ST, mainly because it has the best versions of Kick Off and Sensible Soccer. Of course that is ony computers, so I'd pick my two favourite consoles as well Number one would be the Playstation 2 for the sheer number of quality racers on it and backwards PS One compatibilty. Also some great retro compilations as well from Activistion, Atari etc. Second place would be much more difficult to decide between the Megadrive, Atari 7800 and Sony PSP. But again the arcade racers on the PSP would win out. I think it has the best version of Sega Rally and also two excellent Ridge Racer games on it, Outrun, Burnout etc.... thank goodness I don't really need to make that choice though lol. Anyone else care to name their consoles of choice? I'm thinking Paul and Richie might have a few opinions here
I simply can't make a choice, my choices change on a whim. I think of a game, start playing it and then that machine is my fave If it was computers, I'd be arguing for the Atari, C64 and Amiga...If pushed, I'd probably go Amiga and maybe Atari as it was the machine that I have a long history with. Consoles, hell, that's too hard a question, I'm still discovering stuff on various consoles to make any firm choices. I'd probably join Al on the PS2 for its ability to play 2 consoles whom I have great love of, after that...Nah, too hard
