LOL! You have plenty of hols time on yer hands, Al, to enjoy the delights of Glen's, fella! (I've got other chores to do when I get back from Sewerby/Brid at 8.30!) All ruddy go, bud, but at least mam's had her ears syringed - she'll be able to hear me for once - best watch what I'm muttering under me breath :)

Ah, it was typical that just when I was getting back into the Miggy scene my ruddy hard drive would die in the midst of configuring the Star LC-10 printer (I hope Al has more luck with his set-up).
I've taken the Supra apart a bit today so here are a few pics... basically, the red drive BUSY light sometimes lights and right now, it just blinks a wee bit as does a green LED under the h/d itself - almost like a distress beacon :)

Anyway, a few pics and I will try completely unplugging the drive to see if that makes any difference. Today I;ve been mainly checking connections/seatings and cleaning contacts esp between the drive and the A500 but so far, no cigar, fellas...

No longer boots from the h/d, fellas, only from floppies...

Yep. just a bog standard IDE h/d by the looks of it, mate.
I do have the odd spare kicking around from old PC days but I haven't the Supra install disks... I don't think, to reformat it and set-up a boot partition etc.
I will have a good look though as you never know or maybe someone has an idea how else it might be possible from online resources.
No probs - for another day, Al and good luck once more with your ST set-up.

Cheers, Paul - once more, all advice and help on this subject much appreciated.
I'm gonna next try unplugging it all and then reassembling... you never know/worth a try and then consider my next step...

    Hmmm, "bargain" replacement set-up here:

Been having another furtle with me Amiga last night, lads.

Armalyte - it looks to be an R-Type/Silkworm type candidate.

Anyone got any memories of this one, given it some hammer in the recent past.

I'm officially rated as shite at it :)

    I lasted about 60 seconds - even after re-starting 3-4 times.

Found it impossible to get past the 1st attack wave of mutant knackerwadgers... it must be the joystick, yeah, gadgers??!! :)
