Sorry folk, in laws up to nonsense with no food and screaming fits...
Got to go there...
Have fun, wish I didn't have to go but it sounds pretty rough there...

Hi Paul
We have only just finished and ended the call. But I think we all thought it was worth doing again and maybe even a little more regularly.
I hope all went well with your inlaws, although I'm not sure why they are ranting and raving to you guys. Seems a shame that you and Cindy are taking the brunt of their Hmm Loudness.Andy Barr likes this. -

Woke up this morning to a much much faded back pain, and for some reason my feet were like ice blocks, Cindy made me a hot water bottle and I burnt my ruddy leg on it...My fault...
Still all quiet from upstairs, it's quite unnerving in all honesty...There's a person up there but no sounds of kids...Weird..(but GOOD)
The good old car insurance was far too easy to sort, was expecting all sorts of excuses but a Welsh lady took the details, asked me to send in the other companies policy and 1hr later the refund was sent for processing and should be back on my sister in laws car in 3 - 10 days.
The worst part was trying to explain what happened to Sharon, she didn't quite understand and thought we had taken money off her card to pay for the insurance without asking, took 10 mins to explain that despite asking for the policy to finish that they just put the card through again and we had no knowledge of this until the other day. Finally the penny dropped (maybe) and she's very grateful I noticed it and very happy to be getting 852.00 back...
Not to be sneezed at!
Just looked at the screenies, Graham, you have a proper workshop there mate..Nice..
I'd just changed in to my retro Amiga tee shirt when they rang yesterday, was going to sit there with my Atari / grumpy old git mug mug and then swap to the Windows XP one at some point..
Didn't have much to show, just the souped up 800XL now with sophia 2 (hell is that picture sharp!) (a thanks to a certain pair of AA people for the present). Need to pop over to my mate Tony over in East London to get a DVI cable (oddly one I gave him) to build the DVI - RGB (I do hope the DVI is fully wired).
Here's an ABBUC game just released today, save you hunting it out..
Have fun..Attached Files:

Sorry all, completely forgot about this. I was constructing a small signal generator as a soldering project. My soldering compared to when I was doing it nearly everyday, is not quite where I want it to be.

I'm guessing you'll never know Paul hehe, I'm hoping that we can repeat the group chat soon, even this Sunday coming, I'm pretty certain Andy is up for it (circumstances allowing), and likely Al, although not sure if we'll just be hearing his dulcet tones on his new Mic, or perhaps we'll get to see him this time?
Be nice if a few more join in and I promise to be quieter this time
P.S Seems I took so long typing up post, two others crept in ... Mach 1 & Mach 2 included
P.P.S Hmmm never mind two missed post's, but loads' so sorry about the drival above as only reiterating what later posts already stated..Last edited: Jan 4, 2021Andy Barr likes this. -

I little story from many years ago..
I was working for Cellnet, and they had an issue with four of the Mobile (not physically) exchanges (all of them) not passing messages properly, and kept restarting so I was sent to investigate. Drove over night sharing driving with my Boss, but that was a whole new story in itself.
Anyway finally got to site (Dial House Glasgow) and resolved the problem (caused by BT) that evening the guys in Glasgow switch decided to take me out, told me to meet them in a pub just off the Clyde. got there ..
Not seeing either of the two 'Tam's' I enquired at the bar, knowing they were well known from a previous visit.
The staff called out TAM TAM your English mates here ... followed by complete silence decending on the bar, and a lot of staring in my direction... Thankfully one of the TAM's made an appearance, upon seeing whom it was, the bar returned to it's previous noisey self ...
Unfortunatly I don't remember all the evening... apparently that was usual after being Double 'Tam'ed'Andy Barr likes this. -

Matt how would your mobile network hold up for a voice only google call from Oklahoma ?Andy Barr likes this. -

Go for it, Matt.
Boost us a little bud, from the Frantic Three to the Sensational Six(!)
It's possibly a bit early for Oklahoma, 8am, if we start at 2pm, Matt?
If instead we go for 3pm our start time, is 9am + a go-er for you - or just join in if you can before we clear off?Graham likes this. -

I kind of get that, but didn't think the guys would lead me to a place that was too dangerous.. and was 20 plus years ago..
Mind you I was due to go to Eniskillen, there a huge Radio mast up on the hills, all lined up to go, and then ...
the face of the hotel was taken off by a car bomb this would have been mid 90's .. I never did get to N.I. have been to Ireland a few times though.Andy Barr likes this. -

AFTERNOON, GUYS!
Who's still up for an online meet tomorrow afternoon and are we sticking with 2pm or do we push it back to 3pm to give folks that little bit of extra time to get Matt onboard and our Oric face-masks hermetically sealed around our pus-filled cheeks and boil-splattered lugs??
C'mon, lets-be-avenue -
WHO'S IN and WHO's HOSTING as it were ??

Excellent, excellent, chaps.
Any more for any more - c'mon, get yer nose out of your tape box and shuffle forward - you can do it - hit that ENTER key after typing "Yes, I'm up for an hour's insanity, Mac's micro updates, ridiculous views of Baz's chin and a quick shufty at what Al's got up his kilt etc...
Sign up now and get yer webcam wiped down - you know it makes (no) sense.Graham likes this. -

I just started reading this thread, I sort of ignored it until now, as I haven't gotten around to setting up a camera and mic with my PC yet, etc., even though I have them already. Plus, I recently lost a couple of front teeth in a mishap and don't feel like showing my now ugly mug on camera until I get around to a dentist. For the moment I look like a genuine Okie redneck hick, which just won't do to share with the world for this college educated bloke!
But I read about @Graham giving a tour of his workshop, and now I'm dying to see what I have to compete with once I build my own shop...how about some pics Graham?

Aye,it was indeed, Andy.
We all enjoyed the meet up and once more the wide range of devices, projects and components that Graham has got on the go has to be SEEN to be truly appreciated!
Was also good to hear from Al and his efforts to get his mitts on an Amstrad CPC6128 and now...
AN ORIC ATMOS!
Yes, you heard it first here, folks.
Al wants an Oric to nail to his toilet door.
To ward off evil spirits and Spectrums etc.
I will do my best to produce the meeting minutes later as I'm presently washing, cleaning up after making the evening meal and next ironing (my face).
TOP TIP: Don't ring Baz whilst he's ironing...M.D.Baker likes this. -

Dial House as in on the way to LittleHampton?
Which of course would be no use to the ladies of the night...Or so I'm told by Al...

PLus, we do need all the extra sex appeal we can muster on our channel, Graham.
I was going to go topless after 1hr 30 mins but I would have just made a right (and left) tit of myself...
Nuff said.

LOL! Nice one, Paul.
2 bits of luck for once - get out of jail card with the bump - sounds like he was the one to hit if he was that nervous about being in touch with "the authorities" and of course a bonus extra night with your Serena.
Is there no way you can delay her return to Uni so that you can share her birthday together as a family?
Just tell Uni you have some important social distancing equipment to fit to the flat upstairs who appear to flout all the rules so you guys are doing everyone else a favour (this will be a sealed lead unit that they can't escape or be heard from) and tell them that Serena is needed to operate Graham's remote droid that is doing all the fitments. Furthermore, it could take a bit of time to ensure that the frickin freaks within are properly incarcerated...?
Just a thought.
Else, keep that Motorhead album and your stereo (turned up to 20) on standby, mate.
Get Graham to lend you his "fix Chernobyl-style disasters with my robot droid BBC buggy" project.Last edited: Jan 12, 2021Graham likes this.
