PS, were there any chats last night?
By the time I got back in after dropping my daughters key card it was nigh on 10pm, was going really well but another big accident slowed it all down..
I thought any second I'm going to be stopped and asked why I'm so far out of area and fined, made worse that I'd already done the same journey once that night and literally back to back..
But all's well...Hope there was a chatGraham likes this. -

Sounds good but with my life I make no direct promises, doing that is like the kiss of death lately..

Hoping to have a chat with you all..Graham likes this. -

On paper I have nothing bar a bit of shopping to do at some point, the in laws are mad as ever but a little calmer, Serena is in Uni so it all looks good..
If the world ends before the weekend its not my fault

Sun 14 Feb at 8pm will be watching some rom com/filim with the missus, lads.
I'm up for earlier - say anytime 3ish-4pm-ish - but later on, reserved for Bev.
Cheers.Graham likes this. -

I presume its been offered because of her diabetes..Graham likes this. -

Yes, one by one, we are getting sorted.
You never know, fellas, one day we might even be let loose back into the big wide world ... but I have a feeling that some will remain recluses fearing the great unknown and just hunker down and stay tight where they think's safest.
Nothing like this has happened before and it's really really affected folks.Graham likes this. -

Aye, I bet it's going to be similar at Hull City Hall, Paul.
I do remember you telling us about this set-up you went through.
It's a mass vaccination centre dealing with 1000 folks a day and my mam's jab is anytime between 2-3pm.
The trickiest part is going to be looking after her hubby - me step dad - who is now suffering from dementia as well as losing his vision and mobility and is constantly in a state of unease and suffers hallucinations (there are people coming out of the wall and where is the real Sheila - this Sheila is an imposter...) Me mam's scared he will try and make a bolt from the car whilst we wait for her so it's gonna be an interesting trip tomorrow, that's for sure.
Hang on to yer hats - there are bumps ahead on this journey through life we are on.
We've certainly all got our problems, fellas!Graham likes this. -

As per usual nothing runs smooth on Planet Irvine, got to go shopping AGAIN for both in laws and Serena and drop stuff over to both..
BUT even if I have to pull over on the road I'll make an appearance somewhere around 3pm even if its only a short one (if the link goes up)
All hell breaking loose about this will situation and poor Serena has zero Wifi at the uni halls and like me her phone reception indoors is crap. How she will do online work escapes me...
My username Mclane which should have been McClane as in the Diehard character (guess who made a mistake), in the film Bruce Willis uses the phrase "in the wrong place at the wrong time", seems to sum my existence up
Will see you guys around 3pm wherever I am at that point, hopefully back home but as long as I get reception I'll say a tired hello.Graham likes this. -

Yes nice to have a chat and will be on the next chat one way or another, odd doing it from the car outside the uni but that's how my life goes, unexpected..
Next time I'll have a computer shirt on
Sorry I had to go but after an hour my phone was close to dying so wanted a bit of juice incase I got a call..
So thanks for the natter Andrew and Graham..Cindy birthday 2mozz, who says I don't show a lady a good time, a chat in a car

Hi all, great to talk to Paul, Cindy and Graham. Thanks for hosting this Graham.
I'm hoping next time we can get a few more of the group into the chat, as it's a great way to see what people are doing, Atari wise, with their enforced staycations. Always interesting to see what Graham is up to. Costa del Computer room is certainly getting a lot of use in my home.
Hopefully will see you all next week end.

Hi Allan, just a usual day for me, I never know what is going to happen, always lastminute.com with our lot. Serena we have to be careful with as her anorexia left her with body problems where weight lost from them is an issue. As I type she's in hospital having another suite of tests re her abdomen. Her problem is that she gets uncontrolled gastric reflux from time to time.
Not a huge issue but needs to be watched because certain foods trigger it.Graham likes this. -

All tests were ok, referred back to GP which is good as there's nothing malicious but the situation continues with some annoying side effects..

I don't know if I can make it - good news: dad transferred to orthopaedics after two weeks in intensive care - the bad news is that you CANNOT visit him, under any circumstances. Because of the virus they won't let anyone in - only news on the phone once a day with the doctor in charge. Here in Rome I got a notebook and a makeshift Internet connection from my parent's neighbors, they were so kind to let me access their router. A few Mbps so I don't think it will work for a videocall. See you next time. Have a nice w/e.

I so do not want to be in the car this time.....Being in the car equates to me doing shopping which has left my back in a bad way as of late..
I just want to be sat in this chair but it will still be on the mobile as Serena nicked my MS camera for Uni...
I'll have a look for a cheap camera at some point..Bob had 2 in his kit that I got but they stank of pee so got booted out..
How does a camera stink of piss?????????
I hate to think what sorts of chats he was having!
Edit: I'll stick with my mobile, bloody price of a half decent is silly and I won't buy one of those cheap Chinese ones as they are awful..Eventually I'll get my MS one Serena has back

Hi Paul
Sorry to hear about your problems, just when we thought things would quiten down as well, and another lot start . Doh.
Andy gave his appologies to mention, his upto his neck in it as well.
Ended up with myself and Vulcanman - Andy nattering for about a few hours.
USB Keyboard and Mouse/ Trackball interface to POKEY, PIA & GITA to act as obviously a keyboard, but using a mouse / trackball as a joystick.
Updating an original Candle U1MB (the Xilinx FPGA. turns out to be the bigger brother of the XC9536 I've been playing with.(it's an XC95144 or XC95144XL)
The rest more general, from Euphoniums, lock down, old times etc.
Hope to see a few more sometime

Yeah, apols..
I have two autistic boys next door, both loving slamming doors and the younger boy just loves to scream in a high pitched shriek, his parent, she does nothing, just ignores it and runs her house as a creche for kids so coining it in too. They are mostly quiet but when the boys have a autistic moment they feed off each other and it gets rather loud.
Serena rang me because of the Wifi being down and I tried a number of ways around it but to no joy, also she had software issues and the weekend is the only time she can get help with it because of lectures during the week. Normally its quite simple and she can fix most things but she picked up a virus that changed her search engine to a rather dodgy site, not to much of a problem as it was only the HOSTS file it had altered but it also loaded numerous keys into the registry for other nuisance value. Took a bit of time and a remote link but it was sorted and then scanned 100%.
Not like her to get a virus, I suspect she let a house mate on the laptop...
After all that my head was banging and literally the walls were as well, blooming noise just fills the flat and of course upstairs decided to take advantage and add to the noise.
I hope you and Vulcan Andy had a good old chin wag, to quote a certain Austrian, "I'll be back"Graham likes this. -

Sounds like a rough afternoon Paul

Alas, I didn't make it either. My walk turned into a full coastal hike and I spent most of the afternoon traversing sand dunes and tides!Graham likes this.
