Stunning project - I'm curious to check out the details of the parts used for display, box, internal connections, etc. Years ago (and on Hackaday too, IIRW) a similar project with the C64 was shown, and the mere idea was great. Gonna check the videos you guys linked. @nysavant thanks for sharing.

Incredible, mate.
I will skeg this out shortly and feedback.
Amazing skills abound in the 8/16bit and retro console world.
Looking forward to checking that cheeky monkey out toneet - whatever next - a 64bit ZX81?
Probably

No mention of price, but the guy who built it is thinking about making some for sale.

I'd imagine your eye will water when you see the price...It won't be cheap...Lots of work on it.

Even a plain old custom-modded 800XL without a screen, battery power etc, is coming in at $330 so I'd quadruple the price the above...
Atari 800xl Excellent cond. Custom upgrades (Video, Case). Atari PICO Cart | eBaynysavant likes this. -

I reckon if it ever goes for sale you would be looking around £800 for the XE laptop.
As for the 800XL that Andy linked to, I'm not normally a fan of custom painted computers but that is pretty neat, especially with all those upgrades.Andy Barr likes this. -
