I'd imagine there's potential for many upgrades from that little puppy goldmine you have

The first time we went to Florida, we came so close to bringing a husky pup home, but the quarantine put us off (thought it would be cruel) as well as the stonking great charge it would incur.

The second my wife sees a chow or a husky, she melts, you have to pull her away so the owner can get on

 

Here is the latest pics of the puppies. I guess they are almost 4 weeks old now. The two left-front in the first picture are the leading contenders to be mine. The brown and white one seems to have the colors and personality (reserved and a loner) closest to his father. The brown and white one sitting looks like the reserved loner type in the picture, but he's not.

The white male is probably the most outgoing and friendly. Yes, the white male who is up and moving in each subsequent picture did end up falling off the chair, but he didn't seem concerned...

Apparently the white female in the back had her head stuck under the one next to her during the photo-shoot, I didn't notice at the time; it was all done in a matter of a second or two once I corralled them all and put them on the chair.

I think their floppy ears will start standing up permanently as they get a little older.

 

My wife want's...............Them all........As expected....

Here are the latest pictures of the pups! They are 8 weeks old sometime this week. Having fun in the great outdoors in their puppy-pen. Something discovered since the last time I posted; my pick of the litter Taylor has one green eye and one blue eye, like his grandfather. He's the one lying down in the last pictures and the one up on the fence in the second and third pictures.The right eye is green. It's hard to tell in these pictures due to lighting. All the other have both blue eyes.

 

They look lovely Matt, nice to see them likely going to good homes, as you say, people seem to value something that has cost a bit. Hopefully it's not international, as I'd hate to think of the travelling and quarantine issues on the poor scared animal.

They are all good-looking dogs, but your choice has that extra bit of personality..

A final update on *most* of the puppies. We sold 3 of them, the white male formerly known and Thor and the brown & White one I didn't keep, Gary both went to the same people, so at least they are together. The white female Leila (apparently keeping her name) went alone to a twenty-something young lady. And the male colored like his mother, the lighter brown and white one Huffy is staying with Taylor and the family. My brother got too broken hearted after selling the first 3 that he decided he couldn't part with Huffy. I didn't want to see him go either, and think it's best to have two so they can play and grow up together. Plus they stay with their mother and father for what that's worth. So, I have four dogs and my brother has three. They are growing fast, so I'll take some more pictures of Taylor and Huffy soon, while they are still pups and keep them coming about once a month so you guys can see them grow up.

 

I keep forgetting to post updated pictures of the pups. So here are a couple new pictures of the pups at about 3 months old now. They're little devils...you can see it in their eyes! Or maybe that's just read-eye from the camera...

 

Such cute pups sir, I fear for the furniture indoors, I hear dogs are a bugger for chewing stuff. Saying that, cats are as bad, everything is a scratching post to them..

The other thing with cats is that there's no walking involved, I did want a dog for a while but as my mobility became a bit more awkward I felt it would be cruel to get a dog and then either not walk it or leave all that to my wife. Back in the day I'd have done all of it and then some, but now my fluffy old cat gets the best of both worlds.

I'll post more pictures in a few weeks when they start looking more like Husky's than fury piglets and have their eyes open. Maybe some or all of you already knew, but it was news to me while I was researching Husky's that they (I assume all dog breeds) are deaf for several weeks, it's the last sense to fully develop.

But the fact that their vocals are working from day one is no news to me, these little rug rats like to squeal like pigs at high decibels, especially at 3 am.

All five are doing fine. Their eyes are open now, but I'm not sure how much they see. They seem to still be deaf but that should change very shortly. They are all starting to look like miniature Husky's now...here's the latest picture, unfortunately they are all sleeping atm. I'll take more in another week or two. The one at the bottom looks the most like his mother, the two brown and white ones in the middle look the most like their father, then there are the two pure-white ones, the first born male, and the last born female. the other 3 are also males.

 

Here they are playing this morning. After about ten minutes playing they are all fast asleep again!

As to upgrades Paul, probably not so much. One is mine, one we promised a friend for free, so that leaves three, but we don't have papers for any of them, so they will probably only sell for a few hundred each and that will probably go to more home improvements. This was all about me getting a son from my beloved Beaux (10 now, with an average life span of 12-15), and not about profit. I have a wonderful choice to make for myself though.

Not quite yet. I've been leaning toward the white first born male, just because they are beautiful and I think rarer, and he was first born, but I'm still torn in wanting one that looks more like Beaux. More a Beaux jr. So for now I've decided to wait until they are older and I can get to know their personalities (if there's one that acts the most like Beaux too, out of the brown and white ones (if the white one has a similar personality that's a plus for him). But I'm also open to letting the puppy choose me.

The one I'm doubtful I'll choose is the white female, last born. Not because of position of birth, but because this is the first and last litter we intend to have, and at least for a while, there will be four males around, two being related and I don't want to deal with keeping them under control when she's in heat, it's been hell with Bella, and now we have the female Rottweiler puppy (growing fast) we rescued a couple months ago too. My brother is also not as much a fan of dogs as I am, he hates the hassle and responsibility far more than I do.

He is already asking me to find another home for the Rottweiler pup, his second dong, while I will have four of my own, and possibly more if we can't get rid of the others for some reason (another thing he's scared of). In fact it he's planning on getting Bella fixed now before she were to go into heat again. And I've come to love the Rottweiler, Daisy, as she's been staying in my room at night to keep her away from Bella and the pups, and may take on responsibility for her too.

In any case, I'm about to spend a lot of money next week on fencing to give them all a yard to run around in, just in case, and also for are older dogs who have mostly always been restrained with a chain or lease and taken on walks and never real get to "run free" which a fenced in pen area will allow, at least in circles.

Problem is there's far too many grammar Nazi's on the internet and in general the mistakes are not because the person is lacking in knowledge but more because they are doing a 100 and 1 things at the same time.

As they say, shit happens....

Ah, the good old 3DO, a console made to fail, was supposed to be Trip Hawkin's super machine but although good it wasn't as good as it needed to be and poorly supported.

We can always tell the white female from the male, as the female's fur always looks well groomed and his always looks a bit shaggy.

My brother went ahead and gave the rest of the pups names, which they all know their names now. I guess they'll have to get used to new names with their new owners, if we get rid of them all. We will be posting them for sale this week on Craigs's List (I don't know if it's international) on-line classifieds for the Tulsa, OK area.

The people we offered, one even asked when we first got Bella for breading, have now declined. So we've decided to put a price on their heads (the pups not the people) and if anyone shows up to see them, they'll leave with one (or more) as we are willing to go to $0 and give them away still, but it seems people are more attracted to dogs selling for $$$ than given away, even if they are pure breads!

Anyway, the white female is Leila, the white male Thor. The light-brown male is Huffy, and the dark-brown with streak of white on his back is Gary. We generally don't think up names, when we decide to name them, we just look at them and whatever name pops in our head first is the one. I even tried to come up with a good name for Taylor, decided on Chi (Greek alphabet and one of my fraternity letters) but when I picked him up and looked into his eyes, Taylor came to mind and it had to be.

Yes they are cute, yes there are both furniture chewing problems and stealing socks and underwear out of the laundry bin and chewing them up as well. The first they are being disciplined and trained against and the second, also disciplined but they should grow out of it; it's more a puppy only thing (of course there are always trouble dogs, exceptions to the rule).

While we did have family dogs off and on (and cats), as an adult on my own I only owned cats due to the ease of care and not needing much attention, walks, etc. too. I was always so busy with work and always renting where it was up to the landlords if pets where allowed and dogs were allowed less often than cats. So I didn't feel I could give a dog a proper home.

Then my friend in Texas practically begged me to take Beaux off his hands as he was the last of the litter and only wanted the parent dogs. So after saying no a couple of times I finally gave in and took Beaux off his hands. But I discovered that I'm much more a dog person than cat after all, and don't mind the responsibilities in lieu of the rewards. But of course all the dogs but the Husky's that we have were unintended rescues, but what can you do when pups just weeks old are abandoned on your land? And once you have a few, a few more isn't much different.

The final plan of a large (a 1/2-full acre with both wooded and glade areas) fenced-in yard is so all of them have room to play with each other and run and we won't have to walk any of them anymore. They will have a doggie-door that allows them to go in and out of the house to the yard whenever they want as well as dog houses for shelter outside if they so choose and all we will have to do anymore (once the pups are properly trained and disciplined) is make sure they have food and water and give them some attention in the form of love and affection when they come to us looking for it. I hope to have a yard for them by the end of the year, but it may start out smaller and be expanded as I have more money for fencing and time to put it up.

 

Brilliant, Matt. As Al and Paul have said, they are so adorable that whenever we see them - and my, haven't they GROWN(!) - we both say, LOVE EM to bits - if only!

We'll all look forward to seeing them progress with you and your bro, bud and so pleased the other pups went to good, caring homes, mate.
