Right: the XLP model is for the 1200XL because it covers the 5V with its own power source, which stock 1200XL systems lack, of course. But this would only really matter if someone is buying it to use with their (stock) 1200XL anyhow— because they may not realize it requires a power source to compensate on a 1200XL and think it's not a working unit.
The seller adverts it for the 800XL, which works fine with the XLP model of the Ape-Face interface since it provides a 5V line at SIO. As does the standard Ape-Face model, of course.
