SCARY, SCARY. SCARY when this chap (is meant to be) in charge of the most powerful nation on Earth.

God help us if Biden's making key decisions when his mind is clearly fried already.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Paul and that Richie and yourself make some good deals so that you get a good price and Richie can care for and enjoy your cool consoles well into the foreseeable future.

It always feels a mile better when your good stuff is going to another pal's good gaming cause.

It's as close as we'll all get to keeping it in the family and yes, like Richie was saying, even in cheap n cheerful Ull, even a weekly shop at the cheapo supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl is costing approx £150 - god knows what it would be at Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's but I wouldn't mind guessing roughly double and of course today we hear that the oil producers are cutting back production so don't be surprised to see petrol prices going up shortly - again - at the pumps. Great living in 2023, innit?
    INNIT?! ;-)

    NO!

Looks like I'm adding a 3DS to the sale list, includes an R4 card for DS games and has a clear plastic protective case. Rarely have I ever used it..

Think it's time to see the GP, feeling a lot more down than I want to be, almost total loss of interest in most things and the old body is calling me many names, it's not a happy bunny. Nothing serious, just really irritating. Feel like staying in bed all day, but I can't, I've never been that sort of person. As you can tell, I'm at odds with myself.

I know I'm not alone, looking at this world and how we have to live is enough to depress anyone.

But enough moaning, off to the in-laws to give them a helping hand, they are having it very hard and it seems the stupid sister is planning to spend Easter with them. That means talking constantly about her last boyfriend 24hrs a day and if they don't listen they get shouted at. So daft, the bloke only wants her as a carer (he fits) and seems to be gay as there's no sexual chemistry at all. Sadly she's hung up on him and he does not want to know, almost 10yrs whinging over him.

C'mon Lottery, be kind to me please :)

Here is a classic 1977 Rush song that is more meaningful than ever regarding our dark days. They have many songs that one can look back on as very prophetic toward our times today...Lyrics included.

Here is another from 30 years later in 2007 to further the point...

Will listen a bit later Matt, my head is banging from helping the in-laws and that music is big and loud :)

Well the in-law's shopping trip was a DISASTER, first mum starts arguing about the needed money for the enormous list they have. What she thought 50 quid would cover turned in to 134.00 at the end. Worse thing, the dementia has made her a little non-trusting so decided she was coming in to shop with us. Thing is, she uses a stick and walks 1 mile a year, and she wants to pick up every thing and not stick to the list. End result is lots of unneeded tension, her being crappy towards us, and I'm in the shop about 10 times longer than normal. After what felt like 10hrs, well it was 3hrs in the shop and my knees are starting to fail, and I'm struggling to walk, let alone pack and carry shopping. The only good things to come of it was that she brought me a leg of lamb joint and seeing her face when the cashier said "134.20". It was like Dracula seeing holy water..

I've never seen her so confused and angry towards us, I think she was confusing Cindy with Fiona who is a pain in the arse as said above. Even I was getting snappy remarks, and normally she's very sweet and nice towards me.

Never again is she coming shopping with us... I know she rarely gets out but I can't be having me and Cindy getting abuse.

So, sat here with a mega head ache, ice on my knees and feel like cack..

And with a heavy heart I have to say that I won't be selling stuff outside of the UK, Sorry Alex, I've been following a thread from a UK Amiga seller on an invite only channel, he's described the whole process as a nightmare and when his prize 1200 arrived abroad it was smashed, he's pretty sure it was deliberate as well because it was well packaged and it looks like someone took a hammer to the box from what pics I saw... I've heard a couple of stories about damage to parcels from the UK by some of the cheaper carriers (cheaper, what a laugh). Seems there might be some Brexit hate still running??

I don't like limiting my options and I have sold abroad in the past, but it was before COVID and Brexit.

Will post pics of the items soon, just so you see the shape of the stuff and what it in each bundle.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother and the troubles. I am in the exact same boat with my mother too. So you have misery in your company as far as are mothers go. While I was reading your reply, I was thinking that this sounds exactly like something I would be saying about my own mother! For quite a few years now and worsening all the time. Exactly like how you describe your mother.

So so sorry to hear of these problems with dealing with mothers and the deterioration in their mental well-being (leading to a decline in ours too). Can definitely relate with these issues Paul and Matt as my poor mam hit rock bottom the year before last (after Covid and after her hubby went into a dementia home). These days my mam's more stable but her mind seems to be zombified and it's quite upsetting seeing the spark missing from her BUT she's no longer hearing the spirit voices through the walls and muslim ghosts wanting to marry her and then going walkies in the middle of the night to wish me a happy new year (20 miles away). Thank god that's all ceased but I get it how you guys are finding life very hard when taking mams shopping and trying to deal with everyday things that suddenly become a 100 times harder... jeez, why can't we all go back to the 80s when things when a whole lot more simpler/happier playing with our Ataris and our parents/us guys/the world all in a darn sight healthier a state? ;-)

I will give those rock tracks a listen at weekend too, Matt, and good luck with your sales once you come to list, Paul - they deserve a damn good price as well as a caring new home.

Muslim ghosts wanting to marry her, wow, that's an odd one. Bob imagined his mum was there (long dead) and there were kids in his flat and the real odd one, a 6 inch man was there too. I should point out that my mum died many years ago, this is 2nd mum, Cindy's mum. The dementia suffers seem to get a taste for being spiteful, had it from Bob, my mum and now rather shockingly from Cindy's mum. Thankfully in all cases it was fleeting and gratefully not all the time.

I'm sort of used to it and what hurt was that I was being physically pushed beyond my able state, I'm sat here in agony around the knee's and back, but it's just pain, I'm not used to it but expect pain on a daily basis.

On a nice note, the kid upstairs was pounding and screaming last night BUT the woman was shouting at him to stop and did stop him. Maybe it's a miracle or there was someone up there who I could not hear. But it was nice to get peace. Will it last, probably not..

Read the news and it seems a woman suffering from flu like symptoms just died of sepsis, here in the UK...Bit of a worry.

But yet again my heart goes out to the poor folk in Missouri (or was it Mississippi) where yet more tornado's and storm killed even more people yesterday. The poor people of that and surrounding states just are not getting a let up.

    Jeez, mate...
As you say, wherever we look these days all we see is suffering, things going from bad to worse and lives being hammered by natural disasters and psychopathic killers and despots.
I really don't know what to say - our nearest and dearest suffering mental anguish and some of us going through the pain barriers day in and day out.
I really wish for better outcomes for us all and what keeps me going is the onset of spring and summer each year as the better weather gets us more outdoors and hopefully also gets those bastards upstairs from you out and about for some precious hours respite for you and your family, Paul.

Must be like bleedin Chinese water torture the drip, drip, drip constant racket and row from the feckers.

I'm amazed at how difficult it is to get landlords to take action against anti-social tennants. My best pal has been going through the same thing with her downstairs neighbour having parties and all night music sessions. Some people just have no respect these days.

I've been to every department in the council and the Police, it's a joke, no matter what you say or highlight what angle the people are breaking the rules the council just says NO. In my case it's because she has special needs kids, no matter how much I provide professional advice from my teaching days, it's always ignored. If I mention the DB level, ignored even though it's way above the legal limit. I would not mind, but the woman has clear mental health issues, but that seems to only strengthen her case with the council.

Mental health issues are clearly on the rise as seems with autistic children. In my block alone, there's almost an autistic child in every family and that's a fact. Also we seem to have a large number of people with anti social problems, take my next door person, she wakes up at 4am and slams doors all the time she is there and her autistic children also do the same. What makes me worry is that she is some sort of nurse??????

And yes, one factor I keep in mind is the nice summer days when I hear nothing but birds and have lovely sunshine coming in...Few and far between with the neighbours but every day like I love, so worth it.

Best of luck to your pal, al.... As you say, no respect, just the "I do what I like" attitude...

Sorry this sale is very slow in happening, the last test I did was COVID free, but I can't keep doing them as I almost have none left, and they are bloody expensive. Sadly I'm still feeling like crap as are Serena and Cindy, Cindy and me, we have a stiff neck from hell. It's so sore it's affecting my driving. Mine and Serena's guts are all over the place, I'm basically a wind machine gone wrong, and I'm in and out of the bog all the time, sometimes I DO need the bog, other times it just felt like I did.

All in all it's just slaughtered our plans, we still have not picked up the passport photo's for Cindys provisonal so she can get a bank account for her pension. So far there's 3 months of pension uncollected, money we could do with. Gives you a clue as to how crappy this covid makes you, we were already sick before the pension was due, 3 months ( and going) and we are still feeling awful.

As soon as we get past all this I'll get the old sale actually moving and have a natter with Richie, if he's still interested. In truth, all this illness has made me want to get rid of the gear even more, I'm totally uninterested in almost anything now. All I'm doing is keeping the emulators up to date, I'm not actually firing them up now.

Any how, sorry for the delay, it will happen (unless the old covid takes me) at some point...Yeah, I'm morbid... Ignore me :)

    Sorry to hear, Paul.

Life hitting you guys with one crappy event after another (excuse the pun), but it is no fun when there are bills to be paid, money that could be coming in to help, but everything gets delayed because of illness/bureaucracy and hold ups etc.

Hope you are feeling better just as soon as possible - know where yer coming from with the bog visits but my guts are a tad better (touch wood) and the blood tests have just come back with nothing to worry about, they say.

Thank you very much one and all for asking after me - as many have - so I appreciate you going through what you are suffering with Paul & family.

Take care, get well soon and I hope these sales finally generate the cash you need and bring joy to the likes of Richie/the lads on here/ in the community etc.

Mate, if I can get hold of any "spare" Covid test kits then I will naturally send some down to you, fella.

I'll see what I can do, bud.

Thanks, Andy, I hate seeing any of my mates being ill, especially long term illness. I hope all of us get a breather from our problems, be it illness, debt or any struggle. I know there's people so much worse off in the world and what I moan about seems almost silly but, when it gets you to the point of not wanting to be here any more then you are on the same level as those poor buggers, and I've had a few days of feeling that way over the last year. The difference is that I carry on a few days and get a different viewpoint, they don't, it's hell on earth for them.

But, before things go full 100% gloom and doom, I'm fine apart from the crappy things, the old noggin is on firmly, well blu tak and a some old tape holding it down.

Tried some gaming last night and stopped after a couple of mins, I charged up the Switch and put on Zelda: Breath of the Wild as I was excited about the follow-up. Could not get in to it, I used to love the game, but I just had no interest. If this carries on, I think all my machines will go.

I spoke about a mate called Neale who I lost contact with and then caught up with him after a few years, he used to be like I was, games everywhere, always playing, and then when I called him he had dumped everything, no interest at all. I thought he was insane, but here I am and nigh on the same thoughts.

Weird...I think the difference is that I've not found something to replace the gaming, I'm fed up in general...Very odd...

Oh well, gives me more time to concentrate on Cindy and Serena, which is really nice..Oh, and the great chonker of a fluffy cat, Felix.

Ah, mate. I've got up in the middle of the night... with bad guts again, so I can deffo empathise.
Am popping the pills again - pain killers and mebeverine.
Yet Friday night I got my bloods back saying everything is OK so it's all a bit strange.
When we're completely out of sorts then it definitely affects our enjoyment of life and usual routines.
Like you say, I just hope we get some relief from the symptoms of what's dogging us.
I've been mainly fine this past month but tonight I feel like there's a lump of lead in my guts again but not as bad as it was the 1st time so I'm grateful that I'm not down the bloody A&E from hell again.
Truly, let's hope we get our mojos back, buddy, as gaming and computing etc's in our blood.
You take care fella and in the meanwhile put all your energy into caring for your Cindy, Serena and Felix.

We all send our best wishes..

    Many thanks, Paul.
Had a rotten night so am very tired as I was up n down to the bog.
Guts still churning away a little but there you go - you've said it often enough - there's plenty more folks with plenty bigger problems than I so I'll shut the fek up.
Hey, I may well be able to send you a cpl of test kits during the week, mate.
No biggie but at least it'll help a little.
    Cheers, mate.
