Cheers, Paul, mate.
You hit the nail on the head there - exactly - my sentiments too - we had a wonderful time all round and we look forward to more great meet-ups and adventures ahead - with you guys too, wherever/whenever possible.

Short notice Andy, but I'll be down Scarborough/Filey/Brid way from Friday 29th Sep to Sunday 1st Oct if you have time for a quick catch up and some blank CDr media

Hi Al, if it's possible, we will, mate.
No idea until we get home as our joint social/family calendar programme is stuck on our kitchen fridge!
Drop me another reminder please at the weekend, buddy - whatever the weather, I am sure you will have a great time, me ol muckah.
Btw, your planned break looks like it hits the return of summer - well planned, fella:

Hey, lovely to hear from Klyde/Manu tonight and now I have his permission I will start a new thread either later on over the weekend or next week - man, he's got so much it might actually need 10 threads!!
Al, we're going to be out tomorrow with my uncle and aunt for lunch then out over tea time / tomorrow night with friends in Cottingham celebrating a birthday and Sunday... well, as you can appreciate, Bev just wants a quiet day with me getting on doing a few chores in the garden so it's unlikely I'll manage to get up to Brid (was there at Sewerby, Thur neet with me mam) or Scarboro as it'll be the 1st bit of quality time we'll have got together since we got back from our hols last weekend - it's been full on for her at the hospital etc so mate, it will have to be another time unless you fancy a nip down to us in Hull where you'd be made very welcome and might even grab yersen a bit of Sunday lunch with us... or summat, ie. a go on Commando and a twix or curly wurly?!
Buddy, keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for you and another excellent experience in East Yorks. How has this week gone so far for you - do us a quick summary, fella!

Hi Andy. I need to be home by Sunday evening so hopefully next time.
It's been a full on week, packed a lot in so far and taken a good few pictures. Once I'm back home I'll sort out the slides and invite everyone round for a viewing and a pineapple hedgehog. Proper 70s retro right there!Andy Barr likes this. -

Jolly good, Al.
So long as you've had a stonker and a stormer - super stuff!
Yes, we'll get another meet in before long, mate and here's to that 70s retro slideshow coming our way...
;-)
Enjoy the rest of your jollies, mate.nysavant likes this. -

Oops, maybe it's that new strain that stormed through a care home. I hope she recovers soon and does not get long covid, that horrible long version is just a nightmare. A year they said before me and Cindy would get better, try three years on and still just as sickly as we were then, maybe worse. All three of us are having issues with being able to say some words, they either don't come out at all or are mangled to hell. Almost certainly a new effect of this nightmare long version.

Hope Bev starts to feel better soon. Four weeks after mine I still have a cough that sounds like an angry dog barking and a sore head. Seeing quite a rise in the figures at the moment unfortunatley.

Thanks, Paul.
Dosed Bev up with lashings of Lemsip as she has the most congested nose, throat and voice I think I've ever heard - she's away to bed now and so sorry that you guys have had to suffer continuously for months/years since 1st going down with Covid. I had no idea it had gone on so long, mate. Like you say, if it aint yer physical health it's all the mental strain coming from people in the family who haven't got a clue how much stress and anxiety they cause with their problems some of which are self-inflicted. So sorry about the dementia too...
Al, can you get us all on extended holidays - but we'll skip the Blackpool bit following the fatal accident of the wee kid.
Just get us all a transfer to see Matt in the States... that'd be nice.
Paul, I'll get some pics of France and us with Manu for sure.
Take it easy, guys, and enjoy the last of the summer sun shine / wine for 2023 here in UK. -

I'm hoping with some recent better luck financially, Paul, that you and Cindy can still live out yer dreams and get that camper van and hit the high road and do some great UK touring taking in all those amazing sights and sounds we hear about in picturesque places such as the Lakes, Cairngorms, Highlands, Brecon beacons, Exmoor, Cornwall, Ull, Northumberland, Ull and many other exotic UK spots where you will be guaranteed a warm welcome, cuppa char and I will always wear a knotted hankie on me head if the price is right (usually a tin of Guinness or a Kitkat will secure my services, mate).
Baz waiting for Paul to arrive... -

It'll be the string vest, as much as the hanky, that causes such reactions, pal.

Yeah, my old boss has just hired a beach hut at Brid and has invited me, Bev and me mam down for a cuppa and just to put our feet up, look out at the sea/relax/unwind so like you say, it can be really really good for our mental wellbeing etc.
Mind, Paul, there were some reports on the beach/sea condition of late in both Bridlington and Scarborough (increasingly becoming known as Scarbados - I think it's tongue in cheek!) and neither made good reading:
'Do not swim' alert for popular Bridlington North Beach as map shows every sewage point in East Yorkshire - Hull Live (hulldailymail.co.uk)
Swim in North Bay if worried over pollution, Scarborough bathers urged - BBC News
Not good, guys.
My mate Big Dave from camera club was that upset after a recent visit to Scarbados that he took to social media demanding that Yorkshire Water do something about this appalling situation (turds at 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock, 9 o'clock and 12 o'clock...high!) Absolutely stank to high heaven and you couldn't step anywhere on the sand without sinking up to your ankles in the brown stuff...
