As for you guys doing places up, you have my sympathy, any time I try to do something here I find there's a blooming complication that turns 1 job into 3. One thing I always wanted to learn was plastering, I'm one of those people that can have zero knowledge of how to do something and learn very fast, at one point I was made redundant from the computer business and I was offered a job selling pine furniture, as selling is universal and I needed money I did it but soon the demand for the furniture meant we upsized and became a factory over in Tottenham Hale. I went from sales to making the stuff, tinting it and lacquering it. I'd never done any of those, a week later I was apparently turning out top gear. So there's always been a wish to learn plastering just for the sake of knowing how to do it but like with everything, you need a good teacher to show you the do's and don't.

Guess that will never happen and to be honest my shoulders probably would not like it at all.

On another note and a completely different track, anyone here in to radio stuff, I was left some handheld receivers and a Sont super duper radio, all receivers only. I looked up the cost and they seem to go for good money but looking at ebay can be a waste of time.

...Just trying to find out if they are good and worth anything..

One is a Yaesu VR-160, the other an Icom IC-R6 (had the manuals in the drawer, didn't realise at first)

The only reason I got it is hoping my issue in my 1200XL is indeed the OS, and at this point it is the quickest and easiest way to that end and get other OS roms burned using it, then after that my need for it is minimal as I said. I can even reprogram it for different OS options if you like. At least make sure the ones you requestex for the 4/8-in-1 OS. And if my current 32 in 1 isn't the issue, then I dont need another anyway. And then it is another issue with my 1200xl, and that or the 800 running wont hold back from me finishing your 1200XL. So as you can see I thought it out and weighed the options and logic of purchasing it.

    Hi Paul
    re
Let me to some checks for you not heard of the VR-160 but the R6 I have.

    Matt
I got to agree, sometimes it's easier / quicker/ and long term cheaper to get something of a known entity to check something with rather than suffer from multiple issues like swapping in bits that are themselves faulty.

Wish you luck, as must be really frustrating for you now.
