£260 is a very good price. The joysticks are susceptible to failure so something to watch out for.

I've always admired the Vectrex but think it would end up as a display piece more.

Get yourself to a show at some point Andy and have a few games on one :)

There's a level to which I'd not go, 260.00 is up there, I love the machine, but not that much..

I've played on it a few times and it is a very unique system but I know I'd tire of the limited library and graphics style quite quickly. The controller isn't the greatest either, plays better with a megadrive pad conversion done.

On the other hand, the version of Pole Position for it is one of my favourites.

A multicart is a must have but I think they may be quite hard to come by now. Also if you are just playing rom dumps then you miss out on the lovely colour overlays that come with most boxed games.

Be much better with an Amstrad 464 and Dragon 32 combo lol

Anyway, stop looking at other consoles when you haven't even opened the Gamestation Pro yet!

    Cheers Al.

    Further good points well made.

You always manage to ground me and bring all my ridiculous pie in the sky extreme arcade ambitions back down to earth and reality!

    Feck it - the system's a heap o'shite! :)

If it weren;t for you then I'd be zillions in debt - more so than Man United... and don;t mention the Arse score!!

:) Dress rehearsal for our cup exit toneet's match.

Yep, Al nailed the issues around the Vectrex. I sooooo wanted one BITD, but there was always sommit that caught my eye more. Now, they are just way too pricey. With the emulation being very good, I know which I chose :)

    Good calls, both.

Cheers - as Al suggests, I'll have a play with one and then see how I feel about spending at least £300 to actually own such a rarified vectorised beast... :)

Come in, Robofruit, tell us ALL ABOUT IT, AL and I wonder if Rich has ever had one/played with one?
