Silent Service for the C64/128 is on Disk the other C64 games are multiload tapes ( :banghead::facepalm:) The Atari Disk version of Fighter Pilot is complete and in mint condition so I have Tomahawk and Fighter Pilot on Disk for my Atari but now I need to find them on Disk for my Commodore 64.
I also picked up Academy and Hong Kong Phooey for the CPC as well this week - so I've been busy.

BOOTIFUL, Rich. I just lurve the big box war and flight sim originals from the 80s - the packaging, content and experience has never been bettered IMHO - wonderful to see - you have been a lucky bidder to win all those :) Well done, fella.

Well imagine using our Fred to review your software finds!
What's next, Uncle Jimmy doing the Fun School titles?

    Hi, Al. Yer welcome, mate.

Glad the CPC has gone to a very appreciative new home.
I bought it on a bit of a whim (though I felt it was a bargain and I do have a soft spot for the great Sugar system design). I currently have a lot on as the Speccy is still demanding war games reviews and the return of my Rich-upgraded 800XL means I'm gonna review wargames on the Atari classic too so the CPC464 would just end up incurring the wrath of Bev who, to quote her "shuts my eyes when I go in that back ruddy bedroom piled high with your toys!"

Was great seeing you in downtown Wid t'other neet demonstrating your acrobatic and aerobatic skills too -

AL & HIS DRONE ARE VERY POPULAR WITH THE BIRDS!

Mind, when the 50mph North Sea winds got hold of Al's machine, at one point it looked like it was lost as it hurtled out of control away and over the town centre but fortune favoured the brave and Al waded in, caught up with it and got it back once more under control by resuming closer range WIFI contact.

    Close shave, mate?

Certainly was, I thought it was a goner for a minute mate! The 464 will be getting setup somewhere in my cave this week for a bit of a play. I know I encouraged you to buy it in the first place Andy, but at £90 it was way too good a deal to pass up on!

You've now got me thinking about 800XL upgrades though, I've got a spare one sitting at home. Can see me having discussions with our Richie this afternoon lol

Glad you are going full steam ahead with the ST Richie. I knew you would give it a good home.
If I hear of any donor boards then I'll let you know.

Need to see a picture of your ST Gotek setup, I'm not too happy with mine.

Many thanks, Dave and Richie - very nice interview, interesting set of questions and the quality and passion of Richie's work comes across in his responses. Very natural, very informative, very down to earth and very humble for as we all know, Richie's a very talented retro repair enthusiast but doesn't blow his own trumpet - it's not his style and he doesn't need to as his work and excellent results speak for themselves.
Thank you both - two talented guys producing a damn good read - I really enjoyed this article too.

IMHO Colourspace on the Atari is a lot better than the original Psychedelia on the C64. I have a copy for the Atari ST as well so I need to try that one out as well.
The Xbox 360 had a visualizer when playing a CD, it was written by Jeff Minter as well. Has anyone ever played Space Giraffe on the 360?

I've been changing out all my 74LS chips for faster and lower power consumption 74HC chips due to all the upgrades and mods I add which puts more load on the systems and possibilities of over resistance and capacitance, and faster helps with all the extra wiring and circuits to maintain proper timing and PHI2 issues that can crop up. Luckily some of my upgrades also create their own PHI2 signals to help stabilize everything too. But I still have 74LS's for back-ups in a pinch.Though I also make sure I have PSU's with the highest amperage too.

I think it's probably safer to buy small logic chips from China, like 74's, I suspect that most of the counterfitting and fake chips are done with more expensive IC's.

OOO never seen the keypad before, most interesting so wheres it plug into; a Joystick port ?, and presume requires additional software to work.
The calculator reminds me of a Texas Instruments one I had when Hmm oh much younger..

I'll sort out some pictures and add them soon, I take it that it was the Rubber bungs you wanted the pics of :)

I also like the drives, Black or not ...
Actually a nice setup as we have seen over a period of time whilst you have built your command centre, And I know you will find small changes to enhance it further...
So have you given your Brother the grand tour and let him loose on an Atari yet ?

    Hi All,
hope you are all keeping well?

Do any of you have documentation for replacement OS's, as having spent hours trawling through the net, there seems to be very little.

I've completed my 4x OS board and fitted it to my one of my 65XE's, and it works very well. But to get the best out of it I need to know how to use the features of these replacements.

    Hope you can help.

    Regards

    Andy
