Be weary of the Covid vaccines guys, I've heard they are dangerous being rushed without proper testing, etc., watched a video with my brother yesterday with British, German and U.S. doctor's and scientists saying it's dangerous, unproven, using techniques never been done before, synthesized DNA type shit that we've no clue of side-effects on humans, animal testing skipped to hurry it along, etc. possibilities of virus mutations from it, or entirely new virus creation through it, etc. They've never even gotten a proper test for the virus out; it hails back to the video Paul posted last winter/spring about it. I'll get the link from my bro and post it here...

This video was already banned from youtube and they are trying to get it removed here as well, so check it out ASAP.

I like that. I had an odd thing a fair number of years ago, I attended colledge to pass my Radio Amateur licence.
I went only 2-3 times before I gave up as the guys was teaching the others incorrectly.. I still got to take the exam and gained a distinction.
I've just seen how many post's I've missed out on, Wish it would send me updates but what ever settings I use I rarely get notifications...
Have yo powered up your 500 series yet. It's worth doing a few basic check's especially the high voltage cap's but any electroletic will be well past its best by now. They sound like a gunshot when they fail on occation you have been warned ! -

I was reading about some misadventures with wives and relatives in this thread and I hope everyone gets well soon... But it seems like it's my turn now. So bad news for me either. My father was run over while cycling near Rome and is now at the hospital, transported by helicopter. Luckily it seems to be just a couple of fractures and a haematoma, but there's very little news from the hospital and no one can get in personally. He is awake and conscious but has to undergo surgery for his left leg (tibia and fibula) and a plaster cast for his right elbow. He's over 80 years old so I'm a little worried about possible consequences. In the next few days I may not be reachable while waiting for news and perhaps if it is allowed by Covid-19 restrictions, I will be in Rome for the next few days.
See you soon... -

Great find, Andy.
I have about 20 on original floppies but never got my hands on the digital full back catalogue. -

Sorry to hear about your Father mate, Paul is right about hospitals though. Everything is segregated and sanitised. We ( as in different countries) are all getting better at this as we learn to cope with it, so the risk is greatly reduced. So he is in the best place for him right now.
I have to say Kudos for him getting on a bicycle and getting into Rome’s traffic. I have seen it on TV and been in it when we drove through Naples on the way to Sorrento, it’s mental. -

Its a tough one as you have to admire his drive and spirit but there's also a small amount of being pig headed that gets in to some older folk, they won't be told no even if its for their own good.
Never been to Italy but when I was in Paris the traffic was just utter madness, just a free for all, there's no way I'd ride a bike there.. -

Incredible, Matt.
Some real gems you've had sent through there.
Talk about supercharging those floppy drives with these enhanced EPROMS.
Cool, fella. -

Nice one Matt, you really are in the thick of it Atari wise, really nice to see...
You keep on enjoying yourself, it's good that people still can get on with life despite this awful virus..
It may take a while to arrive but it gets there

Richie, what was the C64 thing you sent Andy, just being nosey, I know the Pi1541 hat but can't make out the other thing..
-
by Paul "Mclaneinc" Irvine
Found a thing the Ultimate 1541 does not do well and that is running Jiffy Dos..It allows you to use an alternative kernal for both the C64 and the emulated 1541 but as fast as it is as a loader its buggy as hell on the 1541 ultimate..
Real Jiffy Dos no problem it seems, was going to order a set from the US for 20.00 dollars but as I don't have a real 1541 and I don't know where the issue is with the emulated 1541 it seems pointless... -
by Paul "Mclaneinc" Irvine
Ah...Yes, played with it....As said, a basic clone for the US...
Cheers... -
by Paul "Mclaneinc" IrvineMay go down that one one day re the Pi and the hat...As it's the season of the new year's bills starting the old quids need to be looked after carefully...

Onwards and upwards, Rich!
Hey, a certain parcel has arrived (to go with a similar fab arrival from Graham which I've partly unboxed).
Apols for the delay in feeding back but we have 2 tons of wooden decking here being assembled.
I will update on the Oric arrivals any day now, chaps, and once more - massive thanks to Rich and Graham for all their time, effort and expertise they've put in to making these old retro relics good to go again.
You fellas rock.
Enjoy some fresh air n sunshine and good luck with your DIY projects, guys, -

by M.D.BakerBy the way Paul, what is the machine under your Playstation (1)? And is that a PS2 under the Gamecube? I have a PS2 slim model, and I didn't recall full size PS2's being so shallow in depth, but the fins look like a PS2...

Ah walkin COVID catching centres you mean

They all are the monster raving loony party as far as I'm concerned..
If you don't vote its considered a vote wasted but if you vote for a person who then does none of the pledges then how is that different..
Lets get some heat on, I'm freezing.. -

Excellent progress report, Al.
Yes, I'd like to see your Amstrad 6128 and CRT set-up, mate.
Fire her up and fire away with a few pics, fella.
Seems everyone's after a Stylophone these days!
Standby for some out of this world tunes from these little beauts coming up soon. -
by M.D.Baker
Maybe it's because I'm American, but I've no idea who Rolph Harris is, what his quote is about or how he's "dented" the Stylophone's reputation or apparently left an emotional scare on you, Paul, which seems to make it distasteful for you. And I definitely don't want to know in any way, shape, or form please. Of course I can guess at what it's about from your inferences, but since that is only words on a screen, I can ignore and forget them. Though I've never been psychologically effected towards any product just because some reprobate used it in some disgusting or nefarious way, just the reprobate doing it.
So, sorry to here some history with the thing and that person has soiled it for you. Don't get me wrong, I know we aren't talking about some deep psychological scare, but just a trifle of a thing that puts you off slightly, of course. -

and you've just gotta dig these retro arcade hits...

Don't worry Matt, I'm not scarred by that gentleman's involvement, its purely that I'm musically tone deaf so having one and being able to play it was miles apart. The said Mr Harris is an Australian singer / artist who was big on family and kids tv over here during the 70's and 80's but like so many of those decades in the BBC he took advantage of the kids he was supposed to be entertaining, this all came out when a fellow BBC favourite called Jimmy Saville was found to have done the same but on a huge scale and the BBC decided to hide all this because he was a 'national treasure, and a goldmine for them.
A very nasty affair..
It's a shame people like him are linked to things you want to enjoy but I still listen to Michael Jackson stuff despite all the stories as I can separate the musician from the alleged stuff.
My post was supposed to be a bit of a bad taste joke but if it gives the impression that I'm affected by it all then my prose was the dented part
Being a dad I obviously don't like to hear of kids being taken advantage of but when I see kids being entertained on the TV I don't instantly think 'paedo', no one has time to think like that...
As for the stylophone, I could just about play the sample tunes where they pointed out the notes to play, I was not destined to be the next Rick Wakeman
Now that I think about it I don't know where it is..Should really find it to get the battery out before it leaks.. -
by Andy BarrYou did well there, Paul.
T'other guy is the ex Man United midfielder and Scottish international, Martin Buchan (not so well known as Micky Channon, I wager, but a damn good player all the same - solid as the proverbial rock).
