Hi Tim, the available OS's themselves. I've found how to produce the ROM file from four separate files using the Copy function from the command line, so it's just knowing how to use any of the OS functions if they're built in. Regards Andy
Sure. If someone else doesn't provide one first, I'll put together an archive of OSes for you-- probably in the morning (my time [it's 3:39pm here in Perry, MI USA]), as the wife and I shall be chillaxin' this afternoon. --Tim
________ ________ And in case I'm confused, are you asking after OSes or Languages, Andy? For example, are you simply wanting the various versions of Atari OS (like OS-B, OS-XL)? Or are you wanting languages, like Atari BASIC, OSS BASIC A+, BASIC XL/XE, etc.? --Tim
Just a quick post to say thank you to @nysavant for the great lot he sent me months ago. I could not find the time to test it all, but today finally I reserved a couple of hours to take a look at the marvellous ZX Spectrum +2, the DivMMC board and the great surprises that Allen was so kind to include in the package. Wow, Speccy Nation and an exclusive controller! Not exactly my last purchase of retrostuff, but surely one of the best! Thanks again @nysavant!
I'll think about it. Meanwhile you can find plenty of ZXes, still this side of the Atlantic, I'm afraid. But I'm pretty sure that the guys at AOC can arrange something for you, me included.
I'm joking of course. Not that I wouldn't like one, but the truth is I don't have room for more micros ATM anyway, or time...I can't even find enough time to enjoy what I have right now. Plus, I have the Spectrum emulator for the Atari which I'll be trying first, and if I really enjoy it that way, I'll maybe take the plunge one day. Too many micros are above it on my wish list still anyway. But enjoy, that's the model I'd probably get if I get one...
I've re-done my XL Command Center album. New pictures showing off my brushed metal back-splash trim, full RGB LED lighting and new nick-knacks and gadgets and some re-arranging to accommodate it all. My glass case has had things on display changed, mostly rarely used controllers and hardware now. The only thing left to do is to add some corner trim along the ceiling and walls. https://atari-owner.com/club/media/albums/m-d-bakers-xl-command-center.5/
Sorry Paul, I'm trying to figure it out, but haven't found where to make them public viewing or whatever...OK, I figured it out. The images should be available to everyone now.
Looks super nice, as always... Still no dvd? Getting annoyed that its taking all this time, went air mail
Several of the items I purchased the last couple weeks have been bouncing around in USPS on their way here... not counting those that are STILL in the system, bouncing around nonsensically. For example, the following item (see screenshot) originated in Virginia, moved to Maryland, almost made it to me when it reached Detroit, then left Michigan to be sent off to Illinois. And several other items are seeing the same confusion. --Tim
It can be similar elsewhere in the world.. From Dongguan, Guangdong , to Shanghai, then to Pudong Airport left 14th May, landed London,Heathrow 29thMay a few weeks later so a very very long flight, accepted by customs in the UK 7th June Disappears for a while, turns up with a new label over the original from Germany ..15thJune Have to BLAME Paul ... he lives closer to Heathrow than I do
Actually closer to Northolt Airport (just over the road) but yes I have cleverly used my Dick Dasterdly sidekicks to plunge Heathrow in to a mess Muttley is keeping them busy... Btw Graham, did you know there was an Omnimon disk for the Controller card?
Hi Paul No I didn't so I guess it must load it under the O.S ROM Do you have a copy or know where I can find / download it ? be nice to see how it works, i.e. copy to low RAM and then copy under the O.S or somehow direct. HeHeHe
Flynn lives! That DVD arrived today Paul, thanks! I have the card displayed on my top corner shelf now.
I LOVE the TRON mythos!! I was probably one of the rare few who enjoyed TRON: Legacy and especially the 3D release! I'm a total sucker for 3D, since the red-green plastic "glasses" that came with my Creature From the Black Lagoon poster, thank you Scholastic! I wonder what ever came of that, anyhow? Probably destroyed by my mother like everything else I had while living under her roof. But yeah, 3D and TRON... they were made for each other. It'll be a sad, sad day in Grandpa Tim's house when either the TV or the Blu-Ray player die cuz they aren't making any more for the foreseeable future. That and plasma televisions. I'll take plasma over LCD or LED any day. But ya better have a room you can darken for the trade-off, too. And TRON: Uprising...!!! I'm glad I recorded that while it still aired. Too short-lived a series, but if you enjoy the TRON mythos and haven't seen the Disney series track it down and give it a watch. Remarkable work. Word in the wild was that if Disney hadn't brokered the deal with Lucasfilm, they were moving to make TRON their franchise-- which is why TRON: Legacy was released. Market testing. Disney killed the series and picked up the Star Wars animation that I think finished up its 7th season and I think think was an ending. The title escapes me at the moment. Flynn lives, indeed! --Tim
I'm a Tron sucker, saw it in Canada...Totally loved it...I've said before that all the malls there at the time had Vic20's in and had lines Like Access Project Tron (can't remember the typed line from the film at this sec) followed by Syntax Error I'm a film fan as well, sci fi action and comic stuff does my fix. Never seen a film bar 3 secs of Finding Nemo or the like in 3D, was told it gave headaches. Would be nice to have one of the TV's to see it before they are dropped as its less of a supported feature I'm told.
My wife and I are actually going to be watching the 3D release of Wizard of Oz this evening. Been long enough since we last watched it that I've been humming "If I only had a ..." all week. Such a beautiful film, and the 3D translation is mind-blowing, Paul. Absolutely stunning. Even the black-and-white segment! But you're right that some people do experience headaches. Since this was in the days when I had disposable income, I went with a high-end Samsung 3D plasma and paired 3D lenses and only had one person in the years since complain of a headache, and they took a brief break and were fine for the remainder of the film (Maleficent, another fave of mine for 3D). Some people will be more sensitive than others, for sure. I really thought and would've loved to see 3D take off. VR is intriguing but priced beyond my interest's limits. And I don't have free space to really enjoy VR anyhow. Closest I came was with the Google glasses gadget that you band your cell phone into. Now THAT gave me headaches, and, again, this was a top-end Samsung phone with the highest available resolution. So, VR doesn't seem to be there yet for me. But beginning with those 3D glasses in school, and staring at that poster... or the ViewMaster slideshows, I have loved 3D and holography. Will I live to see holography become the new VR? I'd like to think so because it'll be amazing. IMAX theaters are a bland foregleam of what I imagine possible once tech reaches the capabilities demanded by holography. As long as it doesn't give me a headache, of course. --Tim
