    Hi Tim,

I'd forgotten about the phone VR, and yes I brought a super cheap head set and straight away I was getting headaches..

3D Wizard of Oz, sounds great...

Will have a look on the cheap sales sites for a TV

Yep, Tron and 3D fan here, myself. I even like to 3D stuff where they put a couple of dots under each picture and you cross your eyes til the dots match up and you get a stereoscopic image from both black and white pictures, like they used to do a hundred and something years ago. But yeah I'm constantly looking at anaglyph 3D on YouTube and other places. Trying to do Rasterconvert 3D art to the Atari. I had one or two images come out decent so far. But I've been doing 3D art on my own using high-res mode ntsc artifacting since the 80s, as my 130xe artifacted in cyan and magenta colors,so it was/is perfect for doing 3D art.

As to Tron, I have been a huge fan since it first came out. I also like Tron legacy I thought it was an excellent remake myself. I needed to happen sooner and have a third one by now to show something in between the Tron World Graphics back then and what they had in Legacy is a bit of a job there but otherwise I liked it.

I really enjoyed both Tron and Tron legacy, but didn't know a series existed. Tim, probably not enough viewing figures to keep it Tron: Uprising going, too many good series went that way.

Talking of software, does anyone have a copy of 1050 detective? I have the user manual in .doc format which I downloaded and corrected some of the spelling, but can't find the .ATR for it.

I only normally download user manual if there is software to go with it, so not sure what has happened.

Tron for me is a work of art and its that quite literally as all the cels were hand coloured, I was not as in to the second film and the initial talk of a 3rd film thankfully turned to nothing. In the second one what was awkward for me was the attempt to jazz up the tech side which detracted from the originals unique look. The deaged Flynn was too soon to try that sort of thing, even today's attempts are easy to spot (the eye's) and its been tried and has various results ie The Irishman that looks wrong, X2 with patrick Stuart and Sir Ian Mckellen where Patrick Stuart just looked BAD. The aged Steve Rogers in Endgame which was part makeup and part CGI looked good though. Also the use of Carrie Fisher and Peter Cushing in the Star Wars films looked pretty good although some scenes were just cut parts from other films but the deaged Carrie Fisher and Guy Henry changed in to Peter Cushing actually worked for the most part.

Also Michael Sheen's Zuse was so over the top he seemed to be in the wrong film but Bridges and Boxleitner did good work. Tron itself gets a regular view here and the 25th Anniversary DVD is still a brilliant look behind the scenes. Another film that I and Matt love is The Last Starfighter, obviously by today's standard the CGI is poor but then it was simply amazing and the work to get it done is simply astronomical, render farms were in their infancy. Sure it has a very typical of the time feel but once it leaves Earth the film just blooms.

And I so wish they had left the Last Star Fighter game as what it was meant to be, it works that way but asa Star Raiders game, nah....Shame its a fun little game but 100% Last Starfighter. At least we got a REAL update to Star Raiders on the Atari 8 bit..

Actually, it had fantastic ratings, but was expensive... and when Disney secured Lucasfilm/Star Wars, well, that ended TRON as a franchise...

    RE: TRON: Uprising

I don't know if the new Disney+ network is carrying the series, but watching the 19 episodes in 4-7-min bites is hardcore. I have the episodes in 720p, but they are a gig per episode, too, so approximately 21-22 gigs of visual and plotline delight... o_O

Lance Henriksen chews up his scenes as a baddie, of course. Mandy Moore, Elijah Wood, and Bruce Boxleitner all lent their talents to the series, and even Olivia Wilde makes an appearance as Quorra. And who can miss Tricia Helfer as the voice of the Grid itself. :)

Well, I guess I will just have to check it out since I recently obtained Disney+ via my brother. I watched the first season of the Mandalorian, then started watch an archeology show with this guy who travels the world using this new laser radar system called "lidar" or something like that, that reveals structures hidden by jungle and sand and time...pretty impressive.

I ordered a distributor from Rock Auto 8 days ago, shipped FedEx 7 days ago and according to the tracking updates has been sitting in Zionsville Indiana facility for all that time. An update 2-3 times a day saying the same thing. The delivery date has changed 3 times, the latest as of yesterday was today (Tuesday). This was suppose to be 2-3 day shipping. I haven't checked today yet...

Edit: just checked, delivery now postponed until tomorrow...until tomorrow, that is, then it will be postponed again...

Pretty crap delivery service there Matt, guess you were hoping to have the truck up and running by now. In the main deliveries with in the EU seem o.k had deliveries from Poland, Netherlands, and Germany all in pretty short order. Also had one from China via SpeedPak took less than 10 days including customs clearance, that's exceptionally quick. Not said to rub it in I'll add, hope you get the truck running very soon.

Gawd, my U1MB is out for delivery with the dreaded UPS and after them calling me John COVID and me getting slightly pissed about it I reckon the chances of my parcel coming to today or in 1 piece are slim..

Was stuffed as the only 2 choices for delivery were UPS or Fedex who were a lot dearer..Bloody virus, pissing up everything..

So, received a copy of Music Construction Set by ariolasoft from Germany, which is supposed to work, and nothing. Gets past the EA logo for about 3 to 4 seconds and stops loading. I've tried this on 2 stock 1050 drives and my XF551 with the same results. All speeds are correct on the drives, and other commercial disks load no problem. Really annoyed.

Does this require one of the earlier Atari OS's?
